G'morning people!

Well I had to stop wearing my flector patches because the spot where I put em broke out in a rash. But it's a story about good, story about bad.

See, I looked at the paper with the side effects... remember I was whining about all those flares, achey, flu-like? Well, that's one of the side effects, not just me.

All through June I felt sick and thought I was having fibro flares when it was just the med.

So bad news, I'm having a reaction.

But good news, I'm not having fibro.

Stopped the patch and the arthotech and while the pain is back at least I'm not sick. Gotta call the doc and update him and see if he has another idea what to do med-wise.

It seemed like I didn't have a problem with the patch until I got out in the sun a lot, started swimming and using sun block. So I wonder if the adhesive reacted to one or more of those things. I may be able to use them again this fall.

I've never had a reaction to anything before, skin wise, so this is all new to me.

I've never had any kind of rash.

Anyhoo, supposed to be nice out today. I'll be out cleaning the pool and patio and cranking up some tunes. Beer and stuff is already on ice and snacks are ready to go, so come on out, will ya? BYOPN (bring your own pool noodles LOL)

Hi Cathy.....sorry to hear about the meds, I was so happy you had found
something that helped I hope the pain doc has some more ideas for
you.

The pool sounds great, I haven moved from my pool for a few days now...
its been perfect summer/pool weather. Its so hot even all the
teenagers have been going in. thats okay.......i love it when
they are all around.

Me......same ol same ol. Some days I do well....other days not so well.

I tried to do a med switch this month but it didnt go so well. I guess
I stick with neurontin and my puffy self. Youd think being fat I wouldnt
mind being puffy too. oh well.

I think Ill jump in , if you dont mind.

s to all.

Cathy, so sorry you had to discontinue the patch, but I'm glad you don't have fibro sxs anymore. They can be a b*t#h...

DH and I took his mom & dad up to their cabin in northwest Wis. for a long weekend...they love it up there...didn't want to come home. It was stressful to watch my MIL struggle with her mind slippage...threw out 2 coffeepots that she'd burned or got mad at because she couldn't get it to work right. Had to turn the burner off after she took bacon out of the pan and left the burner on under the pan filled with bacon grease. I'd written a letter to her neuro describing the changes we've seen since he saw her in Feb. (can't talk to him in front of her; she gets mad for me "tattling"). His office called and told us to move her appointment up...she was wondering why; we just told her he wants to keep a closer eye on her.

More and more sxs are returning now that the oral steroids I'd taken in Dec. are gone from my body...the neuropathy is taking my breath away again. And the heat is doing numbers with my balance and internal thermostat...I sweat profusely as soon as I do anything at all.

My DD called me on Monday...she was working with a sub in her summer school class, and the woman had MS. My DD told her the sxs that I have, and she said I'd better go back to the neuro, because I have the same sxs that she had. It took 20 years for her to get a dx...one doctor told her she was imagining the sxs. Love doctors sooo much, don't you?

Well, I'd go in the pool, but I've gained weight and feel like an elephant...I'll take you up on it when I lose some, okay?

Have a great week, everyone!

HI guys and gals !!

So sorry that patch gave you such a reaction...dang!! But now you know, I guess it gives you some peace of mind. Yes your pool sounds heavenly ~!!

So sorry Jane you're not feeling well. What is your ey doing??

Debbie, glad you guys are enjoying the Wisconsin area for rest and relaxation. Your poor MIL. But great that your daughter found someone to validate what you are going through. I would like to talk to you via a PM, would you mind? I can identify with the weight problem...too fat to swim which would help my aching back unless I would be all alone.

I am good. ONE MORE DAY OF work after today yeah !! BUT had one last scare. My nasty supervisor told me last week she had to meet with me first thing on Monday during the lunch hour. I told her how busy my Mondays are and suggested a different time, but she insisted. Oh well. BUT turns out as I walked upstairs to meet her ONE LAST TIME.. ALL my coworker were there to greet me with a party !! Subs and a cake my best friend brought !! They were waiting for me to get there so they could have their cake!!

Patients and co-workers, including some of the psychiatrists have been wonderfully kind, grateful and generous !! It makes it hard to leave...but glad I will not be subjected to such scrutiny that it hampered my ability to work as I know I can.

Feeling ok. Have the tinglings, but feel my spasticity is improving !! YEAH !!! It must be the new combo the nutritionist had me on. NOTHING has helped, tho neurontin and methocarbam helps me sleep. I hardly take them now... thats improvement yes??

Will be going away for a few days next week as I have 10 days off till my NEW job starts.

Had the 1st anniversary of my DH's death, July 5th and had no idea it would stir me up again. OK, grieving is my work now and will be an asset to my new job of hospice work.

Take care all... sending you
HEALING LOVING ENERGY !!!

I toast to you all !!!

Hi again-

My eye (left) is sort of blurred and sometimes gets "jumpy" vision with bad vertigo. The first time it happened a Neuro at ER said it was an ear thing, but the ENT said no it was ON. So I am stuck between 2 differing opinions. All I know is is that I feel like sh** and my eye is blurry and it will start with the vertigo and jumpy-ness if I get outside or in shower for long. I am tired and not willing to waste money to get a bunch of docs arguing and racking up expensive tests. It has gone away with passage of time every other time in the past so I assume it will again. It is jumping less now that a week has passed, but still blurred. C'est la vie, eh. We (DH and me) just call it my "eye thing" acting up. At least I know how to ride it out without freaking out like the first time - very scary the first time it happens.

My biggest complaint is that it makes reading and typing difficult when it acts up.

Jane,
Do you work with your eye like that???
Don't ignore it...you don't want to lose your vision. See a specialist for it.

Sweet one, you know we care, I do. Of course you can come here and whaaaa all you need to hun.

You are undiagnosed with no REAL doc right?
I do feel for you.

I just wish you could see my nutritionist or someone, like a chiro, or wholistic provider that knows NRT. It knows how to BUILD up your system and decreased the toxins or chemicals that make your symptoms worse.

Since seeing this guy I do not have that horrible fatigue. You know, the one that keeps you from functioning or even holding my head up. AND the balance and cognitive symptoms are gone too. Just a little residuals due to poor diet at times.

I wish with my whole heart to give you everlasting love and much needed attention my dear one.

Whaaa whaa all you want ya hear?

Much love.. hugs

Jan
