I had two wisdom teeth removed in March and they were both impacted in my jawbone. One of them was infected even. I had versed and a LOT of novacane and I didn't feel ANYTHING.
Your gonna do GREAT! I even was able to eat soft food afterward. I was dreading it horribly too but it was over before I knew it. ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) |
My mother had this done last year at this time and said the actual procedure was not at all uncomfortable even though it was done under local. Healing thoughts.

Sally,
I just saw your posting! Sorry you had to have the teeth removed...i feel for you! Yrs ago, I had a dental implant put in. I experienced a lot of pain the following days & believe me i tolerate pain pretty well. I hope all went well with the procedure. Hope you're not in pain & resting comfortably. vlys |
I'm alive and that's all can say good about it.
Half way through the procedure, they had to stop, because Versed was working in the opposite way for me. I became adgitated and my blood preasure shot up. Very unusual for me. They were going to put me in the hospital to finish, but I asked them to just finish up with novacane. The surgeon didn't want to do it, but my BP came down to normal, so he did it. So it was a Murphy's Law type thing. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. I was in a lot of pain throughout the procedure and afterwords. That Darvocet is marvy stuff, though.:D So it's all over and the good news is, I won't have to go to the Dentist for any more fillings. The teeth I have on the bottom have never had a cavity and they're strong so, maybe a cleaning now and then and that's it. WooHoo!! I'm swollen, sore, hungry and upset. Thanks Guys, I may have to lay down in a little while, because these meds make me sleepy and I seem to be having a mini flare from all the stress of this...arghhh!!! Hugs For You All, |
Glad it's over Sally! I hope you feel better soon and that you'll be able to eat soon as well. Big hugs to you....

I'm so sorry Sally. :( Sounds like the proverbial nightmare.
I hope you heal quickly, and like childbirth, your memory spares you the vivid memory in the future. |
Thanks Ewizabeth and Wanneby. Yep it's over and I feel a bit better this morning, but I'm swolen, black and blue and my throat hurts. I sure am glad this is a one time deal.
Where have you been, Wanneby, I've missed you.:) |
I'm so glad it's over, Sally. You are very brave and strong to endure all that you did, and I'm sorry to hear how difficult it was.
Please make sure to take extra special care of yourself over this next little while. You need plenty of REST to make up for all the stress you've gone through, so TAKE IT EASY now!! Good luck with the healing process, and keep a close eye out for a fever/infection, ok? Cherie |
Thanks so much, Cherie. I am on the Z-pack since day one, so I'm hoping that will ward off any infection.
Did any of you extraction victims have a lot of swelling and brusing? Sheesh, I look like a chipmonk that's been hit by a truck!! My Daughter came over to bring me some jello & pudding cups and brought the grands. I didn't want them to see me, as I though it may scare them, seeing Grandmom looking like this. The oldest came in and just hugged me. I don't know if I have a nice smile yet, since I'm too swolen to smile and it hurts. I'm such a pitiful mess...thanks for going through this with me. I don't think I would have been so brave, without your support. Hugs, |
Sal, Glad that ordeal is over !!!!! Hope you have a good weekend recuperating.
I'm having a routine colonoscopy on Tuesday. Must admit, I'm more nervous about the IV sedation than the procedure. I hate drugs they always make me crazy or something. Whenever I take drugs, I'm always scared to death it will cause an exacerbation. I don't have time for MS symptoms right now. Mother in law is failing and requires lots of our time. Going to the opening dedication of the Marine Museum at Quantico on Friday. President Bush will be speaking. The following week, we will start total renovations on our master bath changing it to a walk in shower with bench, and every other convenience and/or safety feature I could think of, I'll have 10 grab bars total when it's done. I can't wait for the safety of a new shower. Wish me luck with my BP and MS symptoms during the colonoscopy. Betty |
