I had an LP performed as part of my MS diagnosis. It was a positive test with obands present.
I also tested positive on MRI, evoked potentials, and blood work ruled out all else. I also had several neurological episodes over a period of time to choose from for the diagnosis. My question is, since I already tested positive on all tests for MS, would another LP be required at any point? What may cause a second LP to be requested? Or would they simply skip this test, since it was a clear diagnosis otherwise? (I could see going for a second opinion that an LP may be required, but assuming I'm with the same neurologist). I'm just curious. ![]()
