Let me ask you this, what would you tell an employee if it was happenning to one of them?
I think if you saw somebody falling, burning herself, you'd ask her if she thought it was time to look for a less dangerous job. You might be concerned that she could sue if she really got hurt on your property, or maybe start a serious fire and injure others. At the very least, you wouldn't want to watch her killing herself for a paycheck. I know the job market isn't great right now, but there are options aside form quitting or taking the huge pay cut, somewhere you could be safe. But if you do decide to quit, you might be surprised how much better you feel.
