Default Woman's World has cure for MS!!

OK, my cousin called me the other night, she had just read a woman cured her MS with her diet.

I said cure is a big word when you talk about it with MS. So, she conceded and said it probably just helped with her MS. She read me part of the article, no red meat ever, no saturated fats, vitamin supplements, etc. I said if we all ate that way we would feel better but still no cure.

So, I bought the magazine today. Title of story is "She cured her MS--with food". I am so mad, why are they allowed to spread this out right lie. Now I will hear from more people that if I just ate right my MS would go away.

And of course I bought a magazine that I don't normally buy just to make myself angry!!

BTW, she, Ivy Larson, wrote a book, The Gold Coast Cure: The 5-week Health and Body Makeover "to help others feel healthier too".

Give up red meat...I did this for a long time...didn't do a darned thing for my MS...it did help my arthritis a little...

HMmm...I think we should look into this...we could write a book about how people don't what the heck they are talking about when they have these 'cures'. Wonder what her excuse will be when she has another flare...

I was told by a very good doctor that red wine is good for muscles...I thought that a good excuse to drink a glass with my steak. lol

so i should sign up for jenny craig?

I am sure if you took 5 of the top neurological illness and fed them with exact type of foods and vitamins and no bad stuff they all would feel better, doesn't mean its a cure i agree the sensationalist journalist in this country is getting to be old news quick, a flash in the pan gets more attention than a candle burning slowly

DD is gluten intolerant so I spent YEARS doing the extreme gluten free stuff. We were a vegetarian, home made, home grown, low fat, no processed anything household for many years. funny, i still got MS. Crap like that makes me mad, because it makes the rest of the world think you are just not trying hard enough. That if you had more will power, you could do it.

grrrrrr. ... I just want to explode when they do that.

Dang...I shouldnt have had that McDonald's double cheeseburger (only ketchup and extra onions please!) today.

and the french fries...(they were cold! argh! I hate that!) those probably didnt do my MS any good.

and then there were the pork chops (with applesauce) and baked potatoes with garlic butter that I had for dinner tonight. That was probably a bad move too.

I saw that magazine at the store today while I was buying the applesauce for my pork chops...didnt bother to read it while in line tho.
