Hot anything is bad news for me....even too hot soup.
When I get overheated, I stick my legs under some cold running water and it purks me right up. Got to keep that core temp down..

Maybe it's symptom based?
For me, a hot bath is the BEST therapy for my sensory symptoms I experience: pain and burning. Of course, my unwanted other sensory symptoms that lie dormant for the most part seem to return in heat and humidity from weather. Strange stuff!

His statement does not apply to me, either. If I take even a pretty-warm shower, I'll be nearly blind for 45-60 minutes. My last soak in a hot tub ended with my friends manually "putting me out" limb by limb until I landed on the deck.
I do great in a regular swimming pool and can handle being thrashed about by big waves but no more hot anything for this jello mold.

I love my hot tub! In fact, it is really old and ready to die. I'd replace it, but the new ones won't let you heat it over 104 degrees. Well let me tell you, that is not nearly hot enough for me!
I like my hot tub around 108 to 110. I know, it sounds crazy. But I did meet someone in Las Vegas that said the same thing so I know there are others in the world like me. Maybe it is because I've been sitting in a tub this hot for years. And for those sensory things, or when I've been "chilling" during my Ty infusions (see the Ty thread if you're wondering), it is the only thing that feels great. But give me a day in the 90s, and I live in a desert so it is dry heat, I about wilt! And being in the rain forest on my cruise with high humidity and temps in the 80s, I felt horrible and lost any little balance I have left. So hot tub heat, shower heat SUPER! Weather high temps HORRIBLE! And I ran a low-grade fever the entire time I was on Avonex. Heat and MS are a very personal thing. I'm glad I'm in the "YES - A HOT TUB" group.

My sensory's mostly in my head in the form of well, what I suspected for ages to be headache/migraine but in reality, I believe it's much more complicated than that.
For whatever reason, that hot tub makes all the difference in the world. I've had Trigeminal Neuralgia type 1 attacks, crawled into a hot tub, and been able to calm the attack with the heat/steam. When I go for my IVSM at the hospital, the FIRST thing I ask for are 2 warmed blankets. The warmer the better! They replace them for me every hour as well, love my nurses . I do like to sleep with my room cool however, and I dislike hot weather. I also dislike very cold weather. That's why I love autumn the most

Unbelievable!!!! The hot humid weather weakens and bothers you, but a steamy hot tub does not. You're all either nuts or you don't have MS..
Sorry, but I had to say it...

You're just jealous, Sally!!!
I agree, it does not make any sense. But for whatever reason, I am grateful!

The last time I was in a hotel (Sioux Falls, SD) they had a small hot tub, and the water was so clear. Nicest hot tub I'd been in for a long time. No primordial ooze! (that hotel was the Holiday Inn) When I went to Rapid City in April of 2007, the hot tub was huge (about the size of my boyfriend's mini van) but you couldnt see the bottom of the hot tub, and it was all foamy. I also should mention that the hot weather here in Nebraska does affect me sometimes. Usually messes with my vision, or it'll make me really tired. I still do enjoy sitting in the front yard in the afternoons with my parents. I'll sit there and knit. Used to sit out there with my dog, I'd brush him out there a lot.
