Default Loss of taste???

I'm freaking out a little... My balance has been way out of whack for over a week now. I had a brain MRI this morning, still waiting to hear from my dr. In the last couple of days I've noticed the left side of the inside of my mouth feels a little numb. I realized tonight that I can't taste anything on the left side of my tongue. Has this happened to anyone before?
