Unfortunately, in today's world, most people are too fixated on themselves and just don't want to get involved in someone else's troubles. I'd have a hard time looking in the mirror if I saw someone fall and didn't at least offer some help. But, those people have to live with themselves every day.....which sometimes is a worse punishment.

Fin - I am so sorry about your fall. However, I am glad to hear that you only have some scrapes and bruises.

As for telling the neuro, I would just document it and tell them about it at your next appt. But, if it becomes a frequent occurrence then definitely give them a call before your next appointment.

Awwww, that's too bad, Fin.

I'm so impressed that you were able to go ahead with your shopping.

You go, girl!!!

Fiin, I just saw this thread. I am so sorry to hear about your fall. I am also impressed you get up and then did your shopping. If I fell, I do not think I could even get up. Hope you are not too sore today. I probably would not call the neuro unless you experience the problem again in the near future or if you are developing foot drop and did not have it before.

Thanks all. A little stiff and sore this morning, but doing ok so far. Though my ego's been doing the instant replay every once in awhile, so it's still a little bruised.

I think I'll do a wait and see the next few days to see if it's still an issue. (I see him next month, and they probably won't get me in before then anyways - plus he's MRI happy. ) Been noticing some changes in walking lately, that just happened to be the blazing neon sign. Not used to having to pay attention to that side. Meanwhile, going to do an exercise I found that's good for MSer's with drop foot. Just to see if it might help.

As to continuing shopping - warned you I was the stubborn one. Did the quick evaluation which I began in my tomboy days as a kid. Conversation in head went like this - am I bleeding? nope. Anything broken? nope. Want to paint sometime this week? yep. Then get in there.

Sorry to hear of your fall. My neuro asks at visits if I've fallen. I would definitely mention it next time you go unless it persists. Then call. I'm curious...what is the exercise you found that is good for foot drop?

Sorry to hear you splatted, Fin.
I did it once INSIDE of the revolving front door at Mass General Hospital just after lunch! Some *&^%$#@ guy actually tried to PUSH the door while I was down inside the sectional of the door! I gave him a few choice words and he backed off quickly. I got scrapes and bruises, along with an ego bash, and my Dad started laughing and asked if I expected him to carry me! (we were there for his radiation treatment)

No one came, no one stopped to help me. I had to unfold myself from that sectional and stand up and finish going through the door. There was a doorman and a bunch of EMS workers standing less than twenty feet away and they didn't even move to help.

I often wondered if I should have filed a lawsuit! The entry was slippery from rain and when I hit it I just sort of slid into the section and down I went! I just figured that they would say I fell because I had MS and not because their doorway was dangerous!

Wow River.. That's exactly why the EMS guys and Hosp personel didn't come to your aid.....they would be admitting you may be hurt. You should have sued the Bas....hful guys..
