I finally got new bras! I have had a double mastectomy, and have to order my bras from a medical supply place. what a joke this place turned out to be. I used them 3 years ago and they were great. this time....I wanted to cry.
I have been trying since August to get my bras replaced. My comfy fav is now out of stock, and the model they replaced it with just doesnt fit the same. It also has thick lace that shows thru a thinner t shirt. Its now the 3rd week of January, and I finally gave up! I am allowed 2 new bras a year, and it took a long time to finally find one that fit well, and wasnt thick with details, and trims. I finally told the girl to just order me another one like the first. Why didnt I walk away, and go someplace else? the dumb girl billed medicare, and they paid for 2 bras. This meant, since they were PAID for, I couldnt pick up and go elsewhere. I asked her to refund medicare, and was told it would take up to 6 months for the credit to go thru, and allow me to shop elsewhere. You can bet next year, I will avoid that place. I will also make sure in advance that NO billing is done till I walk out the door with them. I just want to leave the girls at home in a drawer where they can have fun without me.

What is with bras having to be so complicated? I never did get why all the little size bras have to be fushia with lace, ribbons and cutesy buttons and all that, while the bigger ones all look like factory equipment. why can't they all look nice, yet be the SAME size regardless of what company makes them, and not show through a jeans jacket?

LOL @ this post. I retired 3 years ago and now I wear a bra 2 times a week...church on Sunday and wednesday night..maybe an occasional trip shopping. I've always wondered who invented the bra? Had to be a man..no woman would ever invent a torture device. My girls are small, so I can get away with braless.

I haven't gone to try on a bra (or any other clothes) in about 30 years. I mail order all clothes.
I have a posture problem and wear a "posture bra" that hooks in the front. It's built up in back. I try to get mainly cotton bras without elastic straps but sometimes the straps are partly elastic. I wore underwires years ago but wouldn't go near them now. For one thing I had some bras where the underwire part poked its way through the fabric and started poking me. Also, they're too unyielding. I got tired more easily wearing them. Some of the bras I buy have adjustable straps, with several hooks and holes so you can fit them to yourself so that the straps don't fall off your shoulders. Pretty bras? I vaguely remember them. These days I go for comfort only....

I get the MS Hug real bad. So when I feel it coming on strong I have to release the back of my bra. What I do now is use bra extenders. They are small and no need to sew them in.
One side hooks to one side of the bra and the other side has loop hooks to catch the other side of the bra. I sometimes have two or three of them hooked on the back and open them to full extension when necessary. They come in one, two, three and multi-hook sizes. I know Wal Mart has them and many fabric stores. Don't bother with the sew in ones. Too much work. If your bra feels tight after eating or gets small from washing, just hook one on. They come in three colors, white, bare, and black. I love them. I can keep the bra on even around company and not be miserable. Just add one or two or take one away. Bra still fits the same only a bit loose, great for the Hug or a full belly. Front closing bras may be a problem.. or not.
