Hi to everyone I think everyone I use to chat with on the other site is now on here..
I have had this horrble burning sensation in my head for over 4 weeks now that also made my ears ring.. I went through the 3 days of the Solumedrol and it didnt help at all. I talked to my Neuro this morning and he said that MS shouldnt be causing burning head pain. yet I have been taking Neurontin for it since Friday late nigh and it is helping. He thinks I have some infection going on. Has anyone ever had this happen and was told that it is the MS which is causing this?? |

Hi April, nice to see you..
![]() I'm so sorry about your pain.. ![]() When will Neuros learn that they don't know all the symptoms of MS.. ![]() ![]() I'm glad Neurontin iS helping. It can't hurt to have a possible infection checked out, because we get those too, and an infection can cause and mimic MS sx. I hope you feel better soon.. ![]()

I have/had burning sensation in my head, and I find that Cesamet helps that for me, but you're on the right path of medications they'll try for this type of sensation.
I second the notion that the doctor's wrong on this one and MS can definitely cause burning sensation, anywhere in the body.

Hello, and Welcome! It's nice to have another April around.
![]() I have to agree with the others. This is most definitely an MS symptom. Get yourself a new neuro!! Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of drugs for things like this, so neurontin may bring you the most relief. Definitely talk to a real MS specialist about this. I lurked at MSWorld for awhile. This place is much better, although I don't post very often.

The pain got so bad last night I went to the emerceny room and was told yes it is your MS causing all this pain so if anyone is ever told that MS does not cause this kind of pain I would seek a diffrent opion. I never kneew how painful this diesease could really be.
I hope there is a end in site for this I dont think I can handle this much longer. |

The pain's rough, and finding an efficient treatment can be a true test of patience.

Hi Aprilfools,
Welcome! I have had burning on the top of my head since I was 16 years old. Before a DX of any kind. Unknown they said. I was given weekly shots of cortisone into my head for a year. ![]() No one knew about MS for me back then, but I think the steroids helped me just by accident. The Neuro was trying to calm the burning. So if I had MS back then, it helped that too. Now I have burning legs and feet since 2005. I had it 24/7. It had been helped for a while with Neurontin, then it stopped helping. I get it less now that I am on LDN. Only about 2 times at night. I can deal with that.
