Found another problem with the house I didn't know about.
With the past few rain storms I now have about 8inches of water in my
crawl space. Called the plummer, he won't be available for another day.

The water has to pumped out before my DS can check to see
what the reason for this is.

I feel like I just want to dig a hole and bury myself in it. Instead
of things being easier since I came to Ky. I have had more problems then
I ever imagined.

STUPID MUGGY HEAT!!!!!!

Muggy is worse, but heat is heat. My friend that lived in AZ would say to me, "Yes, it's 110, but it's a DRY heat." Hello? Ya mean like a blow torch??? When it was thirty below here, I'd say to her sarcastically "Yes, but it's a DRY cold."

I think anything over 70 ought to be illegal.

"sally c" i know, exactly, what u mean "hun" the weather, this summer sure hasnt been the greatest, hopefuly it will get better, with-in time befor summertimes over soon.

altho im comfy-coxy inside, with, my ac enjoying it, heh.

It's winter, cold at night with sunshine but a cold edge in the day (around 18 degrees which I now find cold).
Summer will bring us tops of 45 which is 120 in old money. It'll be my first MS summer and I'm anxious what will happen. We kept the pool though thank goodness.
I'm fed up of the cold and the wind.
and no doubt I'll be fed up the heat when it comes too. Never bloody happy !!

Gosh In southern Louisiana we have the awful heat plus humidity. This past week the temps have been hovering around 97-99 with heat index in the 100's. Our central AC unit doesnt get turned off at all. Since we have a lot of power outages, we also have a window unit in the den..if power goes off, we turn the generator on and stay in the den.We are buying another generator soon so that when power goes off, we can also run the central unit on 1 generator and use the other for TV, refrigerator etc. During hurricane Katrina, we stayed in the den for 8 miserable days! I'm praying for an early winter!

Those were some wicked thunderstorms we had! I was at MVH on a morphine drip and they woke me up around 2:30 a.m.! LOL

This morning it's just beautiful outside and it's not supposed to be so humid today - we'll see. Just enjoying hanging out in the A/C myself.

Extreme heat warnings here in AZ. I am so sick of this dang heat!!! We still have a few more months left of it too.

I posted this on the Insights thread but . . .This morning when I got up it was 82 degrees with 50% humidity. You all are going to laugh at this desert rat but it was so gross feeling. Sticky, sticky, sticky! I am at DBF's and he has an evaporative cooler not a/c. E/c work awesome and are just as effective as a/c in dry weather. But in humid weather they aren't as they are blowing moist air making it more sticky. I now have 2 fans blowing on me and it feels so much cooler in the living room.

AZJanie - LOL at DH. It is funny how when the heat is so high and it cools down 10 degrees it feels so much cooler. I have often done that myself. The year DD19 was born it was 124 degrees out. They cancelled all flights to and from Phoenix because of the heat. It cooled down to 100 or so and it felt so much better.

A few years ago we took a summer vacation to Arizona ...... in July. We live in muggy humid northern Virginia where it was about 90, we had a lot of concern about going to AZ where it was 110 and zero humidity. It was easier for Kim to walk there?!?!?!? Not that it was like she could run or stuff, but she did a lot more walking in AZ, more distance per day than she could at home. Made me wonder.

Russell Johnson, a meteorologist with MS who made the connection between dew point temperature and MS symptoms some time ago has written a number of papers on the subject. Unfortunately you can't get at the papers for free on the internet. But, in a nutshell, he lays out a framework that shows that humidity is the oft overlooked variable, it's not just about heat. Ken

Ken - I think you made a very valid point. While it is hot in AZ, during the monsoons when it is more humid I have more muscle spasms, fatigue, and difficulty ambulating for any length of time, and generally more MS symptoms popping up on a daily basis. Once the humidity goes back down I start doing better. Hence, it is during the monsoon season that I tend to "hibernate" more.
