What is Imuran? I have never taken it. I know that some medications can cause flu like symptoms like body aches. Could that maybe be a part of it? Or maybe your potassium is low. My legs will cramp every once in a while but i just keep trying to drink lots of fluids and eating bananas. I am also I guess in remission. No doctor has really said "yes, your in remission." I am only taking half a mestinon every once in a while. lets say average every other day. I am way better then when I started. lol If you figure anything out about the muscle pains keep me updated. I would love to know.
Sugarkiss-Also I didnt know you could really take vicodin on a daily basis. I thought it would be considered a warning drug. Do you think it could be worsening your MG? |

I had so much pain in my legs for several years that some days I could not even let my feet touch the floor due to being so sore. I have had to let my husband help me walk across the room before because of the soreness in my feet. My neuro also said pain was not part of the problem but the muscles could become fatigued. He doesn't discuss the pain issue either since that is not a symptom. Since I have been on Mestinon, the pain is so much better. Some days I don't even have any (for the first time in several years I have had relief). If I stay on my legs a lot during the day, especially wallking, they begin to tire and hurt again. They even hurt lying in bed when doing nothing after having a hard day. I was told by my MD to live with the pain. When you begin to age, you will have pain and you have to learn to deal with it. I also am not a medicine taker. If I ever took a Tylenol or Advil, people knew something was terribly wrong. I can say I am much better since I began Mestinon. Although, I take the generic form of Mestinon because of my insurance. I hope you can find some relief and get to feeling better soon. ![]() |

I've been taking the vicoden since my thymectomy Aug of 09. I don't think it's making anything worse (unless it's damaging my liver, and causing my immune system to flare?)...I did worry when I was first prescribed it, but I didn't have any reaction, and since I've been taking it for so long, I don't have any of the normal side effects that it causes, just pain relief.

I'm new here, and have been trying to read and absorb a lot of this very useful information on this site. Thank you for all your informative contributions! I did want to share something I learned in another forum for a different condition. Did you know that nightshades also have anti-cholinergic properties? They can inhibit your body's production of acetylcholine, which would have the opposite effect of the cholinesterase inhibition. *edit /copyright* Please see "The trees of death" by Stephan Cooter, PhD Geode Last edited by Chemar; 02-13-2011 at 08:24 PM.
