Default Weak toooday

Yeehaw, as Ive been having some pretty good days- It hit me today and I had semi forgot how flucctuating this disease truly can be!

I may have worked out a little too hard last night and I am definetly paying for it today... I am at work with my mom and told her I would be leaving early as I can hardly do anything. My arm is a useless limb right now, and is in pain right now because its so weak....

I hate that my neurologist and from my knowledge many of yours, say that pain is not a symptom of this disease. At first I believe it is not a symptom but after a while the muscle must become very angry and become more apt to causing pain. Its like there are 1000 bricks sitting on my arms, which is different than the weakness, but it is like a combined symptom...sucks.

Hope your all well!

I need to stop exersizing for a bit..

Right. Everyone knows that if you work your muscles past their capacity, they'll hurt--even if you're perfectly healthy. MG just lowers that capacity, so that even normal activity (not to mention working out--sheesh) gets you to that "past their capacity" stage very quickly.

Our bodies tell us when we're over-doing it. Sometimes these messages are subtle, like a delayed reaction of weakness the next day. But sometimes these messages are pretty in-your-face. If you're in pain, you're WAY over-doing it.

I know you know all of this.

I hope you can get some rest.

Abby

I walked about 2 miles last night and I'm a little pokey today myself!
I think a good reason for pain can come from weak muscles letting the vertebra compress discs and thus pinching nerves.
I know when one is feeling good its hard to not go out and chase the things you enjoy - sometimes its worth the sacrifice...

Tyson I know what you mean about the pain. I often get pain when I haven't been doing anything, and I to have told my neuro about it, but he says mg doesn't cause pain, but my grievance is he never follows up with what it may be!!! I would like to know what this may be as I never had this pain pre mg, and its not muscle pain........

Abby- I agree with this but this kind of hurt isnt something ive experienced before. I used to workout everyday before this as you know and never got this type of pain in my body.. its like a dull ton of bricks just sacking down on me..I agree it is telling me to slow down and I am realizing I have to so I will stop working out as much/as intense..

Smokey- its very true, sometimes- and most all the time it is worth the sacrifice to me tahts the only way i deal with things.

Redtail- Yeah i kno what you mean about not doing anything and still getting the pain- its not as bad as the one where you are doing stuff, yet its still there and hurts! I dont understand why they dont think that our fatigue can cause muscle discomfort....

hope your doing well

Hi Tyson,

I'm on holiday on the other side of Australia, New South Wales, so I'm having a great time, just very muscle fatigued and tired, and in pain....but having a WONDERFUL time. I do have a great gp that I just started going to she might be helpful about my pain, maybe....
take care Kate

My neuro also told me pain has nothing to do with MG. He did say, however, that when the muscles become fatigued, it may cause pain, but that was not a symptom. I was busy all weekend with a wedding, plate sale, and later on Saturday, I started to crash. I even went as far as taking a pain pill Saturday night because my legs hurt and my body ached so bad. Missed church on Sunday. I had to stay put. Took a sick day on Monday. I am now getting better but still taking it easy. I still think pain is a big part of this regardless of what the reason is behind it. I now use my voice and my legs to tell me what I need to do (slow down or stop completely). Seems to work well for me. I personnally think they should have some kind of convention or group with doctors and mg patients so doctors can revamp the way this illness does and the many signs that so many have so they can be more apt to help others that seek their advice when confronted with premature signs of mg. It is not black and white. There are many gray areas that need to be exposed. Hope you get to feeling better. Take care. busy
