Confused Strange Swallowing Sensations??

Hi everyone - I hope you are all ok? In the Uk we are currently having some lovely Sunny weather which is great (at last!) however, as to be expected with possible MG it does seem to make my eye a bit more droopy and my breathing a bit off which I assume is responsible for the blueness feet and hands at times...lovely! haha.

I am very lucky and have never had any issues with swallowing, chewing etc - just the facial droop but over the past few days, especially at night I have the feeling like my throat is closing at the the back and I need to swallow hard - does anyone else experience this? I haven't struggled with food or drink at all just this feeling there is something at the back of my throat or that it is closing and I can almost feel the air pass through as I breathe??? Does this make any sense at all?!?

Thanks everyone

This was my first symptoms of MG. I thought it was an allergic reaction or something. To ease your mind, I dealt with it for a long time (I wasn't diagnosed with MG yet) and it eased away.

Oh yes!!! it's an awful sensation isn't it!! It almost gags me, feels like my throat is collapsing... it got so bad once my voice coudln't come threw my collapsed throat - i would try to talk and almost sounded like kermit the frog- of course I had a lovely nasal voice as well.. it was AWFUl for a few days until I got IVIG .. it completely went away all winter long - and now that it's warming up it's coming back grrr.. (again, I don't have a firm diagnosis though - but seroneg MG is high on the list).

Wink

I also have a tight feeling in my throat when I have done too much. I think it feels like someone has a hand around my throat if serious or like a too tight turtleneck if mild. Resting with my head elevated helps the most for me

When I overdo, I get the same tight feeling in my throat. I also get a weird voice and my hearing goes wonky. Sometimes it feels like someone is restricting my chest so that I can't breathe. I am going for a bunch of tests with a pulmonologist next week.

Sandy, I get the same sensation, especially on the hot summer nights. I keep the air conditioning on all the time, but I just cant get it cool enough at night to ease though symptoms. We have a finished room in the basement and the basement is always very cool since heat rises. Sometimes, I have to go down there to try and get some sleep.
