Hi all, newly diagnosed and I have a dumb-ish question:
I haven't tried the ice test that they say will help nerve connection and relieve weakness for a short time but I've read about it. If that is the case, why do I slur my words SO BADLY when it's cold outside? Like, its seriously bad, the slurring (I'm probably not the only one here), it's drastic and embarrassing. Does anyone know the explanation for this? Thanks! ![]() |

I am the same way.. if i eat a bowl of ice cream, i'm so slurry!! When its cold outside, If i'm out too long, same thing.. but then heat "melts" me too!!! I have heard others say that our neuromuscular junctions don't work well in extreme heat or extreme cold... which made me feel better that i'm not alone in that weirdness!

The ice test is the one where you put bag of crushed ice on drooping eye and your eye lid will return to normal. Cold weather does effect MG in some cases. My MG reacts to hot weather.
Mike PS: Keep the questions coming. That is what we are here for ! |

When I used to live in Illinois it was the winter when my symptoms were the worst. Not as bad in the summer even with the humidity. Now that I'm in California my symptoms seem to have stabilized.
