My husband had a central line like that that was in for about a year when he was taking chemo for cancer. We never had any trouble at all with it. And it sure saved a lot of sticks.

How did it go, littlewish? Did you get it done yet? Update, please! I hope it all went well, no pain, no discomfort. At least with the central line, there won't be any more problems with needles!

well thanks for everything i went and had it done , it is called a tunneled perm catheter and they gave me a light sedative and then numbed the area they tried to get blood from me but they couldnt the vein collapsed so they waited until they had the catheter in place I have some pain brusing and swelling but, i had my first pheresis today and NO pain with needles just pluged me in and it was done thanks again , this forum is great and so are the people
