Hello all! It's 4.00 am here and I am unable to sleep! THis 60/40 thing has been kind of hard this time. I was up 20 hours straight theother night...I've got to ask my dr about something to help me sleep as this is driving me CRAZY!
![]() My back is giving me fits AGAIN as well. I'm going to ask for some stronger meds - tylenol just ain't cuttin' it for me! My aunt from Houston will be in today, so I have to be "on"............but I konw once I get a good night;s rest, things will go back to normal. Does anyone else have tihs problem? I am always like after an extended hosp stay - always! It;s almot like some post traumatic stress thing - @ this time right now I would be getting all of my vitals checked........' Hope this finds you ALL happy and strong! Erin ![]()

Sweetie, I do know what you mean. Lol. I experience that every other night myself. Sometimes its like I'm really tired, but yet I can't sleep. Other times, its like I feel really tired, but once I lie down, I'll turn for many hours till the sun comes up. Lol... Post traumatic stress??? Maybe... Or maybe our body just needs time to adjust.
Tried taking sleeping meds, but they make me drowsy for two days after that, so sort of decided its not worth it. Haha.. Don't wanna live my life drifting in and out.... Found aromatic oils wonderful though. The scents are able to make me feel relax, and am able to sleep better once I'm asleep. Maybe its all in the mind, but scents work for me! Hope you feel better real soon hon! |

Hey Erin,
I have one of those nights maybe once a week. The short nap I take during the day doesn't effect my sleep, but sometimes I take too long of one and then I'm awake all night. You name a Lifetime movie and I've seen it. A full nights sleep is so vital to our health, so I hope you get back on track again soon. I hope you get some relief for your back too...that will keep you awake. Take care. ![]() Hugs, Pat |

Yep I have nights like that too! Last night though I slept like a baby! Im not showing off honest LOL!
Quite often Im down stairs and I could just fall asleep I get upstairs and into bed and I just can't settle. When I was on the steriods I put it down to them as they are well known to turn you into an insomniac, but even off them Im struggling to sleep. On nights where you can't sleep its like your body just can't get comfortable and the worst thing is you know you have to sleep to have a reasonable day. Its so annoying! Hope you manage to catch some zzzzzz's soon Love Rach |

When I come home from the hospital it takes me about a week before I have a proper sleep.
I always put it down to the noise you get used to in hospital, machines bleeping, nutty patients etc. When you get home its too quiet. Im quite sure there has been a study done, a few years ago mind, that patients that have stays in ICU have problems sleeping afterwards due to the level of noise they have got accustomed to. Probably also from being woken up for obs at the weirdest times also! Told you I had a crummy short term memory.....before I was ill I had a photographic memory. Could read a policy document once and then recite it to the management team. Now I can't even read a forum post and remember its contents LOL! Love Rach |

i also find if i deviate from my bedtime routine ,sleep is hard to come by. even if i already took 2 showers that day,i have to shower just before bed. no sitting around in pjs is another no-no before bed. shower, read 1/2 hr and no matter how good book is ,i have to stop or i can't sleep well. i also keep ibuprofen at bedside due to aches and pains that come in the night!
