Hi,
I'm Pet a wife, mom of 4 a daughter Jackie, another daughter (Marz, she is deceased.) 2 sons Johnny and Jesse, and 4 grandkids-3 boys and a girl. I was diagnosed with adhesive arachnoiditis in 4-08. I had 7 back surgeries in 2007, and 2 in 2008. They finally told me that there was nothing more they could do, the nerve damage was way to extensive. So..... after most of 2 years of adjusting to a new way of life, I was getting out of bed 7 weeks ago and heard a funny noise almost a rip noise but not quite. I had another MRI and had a bucket tear and a anterior and posterior tear of my right knee meniscus. Surgery was last Thursday, they ended up removing rather than repairing it, as there was to much damage. Now, not quite a week later I seem to have grown fangs and am apt to yell rather than speak..and really This is completely outside of normal for me. So in a nutshell, I need some advise! And I look forward to getting toknow you all. Thanks Pet |

Welcome
So sorry some things just can't be fixed. It has to be difficult in many ways, to say the least. I went through 7 years of hell. No surgeries, though. I would be totally upset with all you've gone through and no better results. During those years I was not nice a lot of times. At times... well, it was bad. It will bring the worst out in you. It's crazy like that, I guess. We understand. ![]() I dont know your condition but I'll give you our link to General Health Condiions and Rare Disorders: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum2.html There's lots of support and info here. We'll listen to you rant all you want. It helps.

Welcome Pet!
I was injured in a car accident. Like you, I now have outbursts of temper that are totally out of character. I know they are the product of pain, frustration and a brain injury. It is difficult for folks in pain to be cheerful. You personality issues may also be partially attributable to having been put under for surgery. Those drugs are know to cause depression. As they work their way out of your system, you may notice an improvement in your mood. In the meantime, try not to be too hard on yourself. Also, don't be afraid to seek professional help if you feel you need it. Cheers |
