Smile Me too!

Hi!

I'm new here. I was dx'ed with ADHD a year and a half ago. Took meds off and on (Strattera and Cymbalta). Been having some unrelated problems and am off the medication right now and with a new nurse. I may be able to go back to the medication, I'm not sure if she is going to agree with the diagnosis. She's treating me for anxiety and depression (taking Prozac and Valium).

I am concerned about liver toxicity and am thinking about seeing how I do without medication (without ADHD meds, that is- although I know the anxiety and/or depression may improve with proper ADHD treatment).

Anyway, hi!

Smile Hi Me Again!

Gee, that makes it sound almost like I'm talking to myself... Welcome to the forums! I'm glad you found us here. Are you going to try going off all your meds altogether? It's a great thing if you can do it with no problems, but I've gone off several times already without supervision, and darned if I didn't have complications every time. Of course, my illness and my meds are a lot different from yours.

Anyway, it's great to see you here, and I hope you decide to hang around and become an active member of our group. I'll be looking for your post in the future!

Best Wishes,
Idealist

Hi me_again and welcome to NeuroTalk

i have a son with ADD (no H) and TS/OCD with occasional depression

althought we tried meds for one year, he has now been med free and on natural treatments for 6+ years and doing great!
we did the med withdrawal under careful doctor supervision tho, and I have also had guidance from an Integrative doctor on his supplement plan

hope you find the right treatments with the least side effects and let me know if you need any more info on what we have found successful to run by your doc
