Default Hi I am a new member

I was diagnosed with Autonomic Neuropathy in January of this year. I am really looking for some support on this. I have been in so much pain and not able to do much of anything due to an extreme drop of blood pressure that causes me to pass out. I am on so many pain medications and meds to help raise my blood pressure.

I am currently applying for disability because the doctors said I can't work. I am becoming very depressed because of this and just need people to talk to that have similar symptoms to me.

Hope to talk to all of you soon!
Sharon

Hi, Sharon! Just wanted to welcome you to the community. I don't have any information myself, but here is a link to a forum where you might find someone with similar issues:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum20.html

Hope to get to know you better...you'll meet some great folks here. It's a little slow this afternoon for some reason, but I know you'll get lots of support!

Smile Hello Sharon....

Welcome to NT!

You've found a fantastic place for support, encouragement, and wonderful information on things to do to help combat the pain and frustration.

I too have suffered neuropathy for a few years now, so can fully understand what you are going thru.
I'd highly recommend you check out the Peripheral Neuropathy forum (Blessings2you provided the direct link to get you there).....while you are at that forum, be sure to check out the very top where it says "PN supplements, tips, etc"......it is packed FULL of VERY helpful information that folks have put together.
Neuropathy is a very frustrating type of pain to combat, but you'll soon see that you are not alone and we are like one big caring family.

Also, regarding the disability....there's a forum specific to that discussion as well.....so...... you've certainly found a shoe that 'fits' here, my friend.....
Make yourself at home.....

Truly Caring
Rae

Hi Sharon.

Just wanted to extend a hearty welcome. You are going through such a trial, my heart goes out to you. But you are not alone. Lots of others on these forums are going through similar situations. You have been given good info.

Keep posting and, most important, do try and reduce the stress in your life.

It does get better.

Take care, Melody

Sharon, have you heard of mestinon being used for this? I have myasthenia gravis and take mestinon but it is suspected I have what you have too. There was is a study going on at Mayo Clinic in MN on that. I do find that when I get the odd symptoms of this the mestinon sure can tackle it. It sounds like you have a harder time with it than I do.

Wishing you some gentle hugs. This is a very good place to share. My vision and memory is bad so if you want to talk messge me privately is I miss your posts.

Hi Sharon I too have autonomic neuropathy and I do know what you are experiencing. I have the autonomic nervous system disorder thru out my entire body. Johnny Cash suffered with it. It does effect the B/P as mine gets very low and sometimes high. I am not taking anything for it right now. I need to see specialist but my dr. has not referred me to one yet so i am just waiting for appointment.

hi sharon,

i'm so sorry about your dx (diagnosis). this must be a difficult situation to live with. i just saw something about this disease on the show "Mystery Diagnosis". unfortunately i can't remember what ended up being done for this young lady. i bet you could find the episode if you googled the show on Discovery Health channel.

i see you've been given some links to other forums. i hope we can help you.
welcome to NT.
