Hello everyone, I have been diagnosed with TOS since 2006 due to a Motorcycle Accident in 2002. Yes it took four years but I finally found a Doctor who would listen and knew what was wrong and treat me. I have my good days and my bad days as you all know but the worst day for me came last month when I found out that my Doctor (Allen J. Togut) is retiring this year. I live in a rural area in Pennsylvania where Doctors with expertise in TOS are slim to none unless you willing to travel like I have too. I am looking for anyone else here with the same problem and if so do you have any recommendations finding a new Doctor. Thanks:

Hi
Welcome to NT So sorry you have TOS. It took me over four years to find a good, knowledgable doctor to treat my TOS and related conditions and unrelated conditions. There is a TOS member in PA. Here is her link. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/member.php?u=99 She may be able to help you. Louisville, KY is not that far away. Dr. Atasoy is wonderful, but I haven't checked or been back in several years now, he may be retiring also. He's great. Would recommend him highly for TOS. Hope you find a good provider close to you. You first have to determine what your future treatment needs will be. There's always tweaking to be done. You're not alone here. We do understand and may have lots of helpful things to try. ![]()

Thanks for the reply and for the information. Seems like four years to find a Doctor willing to listen and treat is the norm.

I had a minor case of TOS after a double mastectomy. With PT, and other exercises I found it greatly improved. I havent had much issue with it, but have great sympathy for those that struggle with it. Thorasic outlet syndrome is quite awful if you cant find some relief.
I would stand just before a door way. place my hands on the jam (palms at shoulder level) and lean into the doorway. Feel all those muscles and vessels open up. dont push, just lean, allow a nice long stretch. put hands up higher or lower for a wider area of stretch. Felt so good after being tight for so long. I hope you feel better. ![]()
