Default So Frustrated...

Although I am certain I have Hereditary Peripheral Neuropathy (because my dad also had it), I have been to specialists, had test after test and get the shoulder shrug that indicates the doc doesn't know how to help me. I know it is NOT CURABLE... I just want some relief from pain and answers. I take gabapentin and all the vits, plus ibuprofen as needed. Still walk like a 90 year old and I'm in my early 50's. I also have a very painful growth on the back of my right heel near the ankle area that is very painful and no suggestions from doc on what to do about it. Sorry so lengthy. I am hoping there is someone out there walking in my similar miserable shoes that can help. BTW I am a very upbeat, happy person and live with this everyday without making my family miserable! I just hope for better relief. Thanks in advance. I appreciate any advice or guidance.

Thumbs up Glad you stopped by!

Hey, Kasey. I know exactly which shoulder shrug you're talking about. So irritating. So frustrating.

Don't ever apologize for a lengthy post. We all need those from time to time. I've written 3-4 as much as you did (don't think I said sorry either .)
Take what you need, give what you can.

Abbie's given you the PN forum link. Wander around there, ask questions, get to know the folks. You can also click on the Search link above (& little right of center), which will help find other forums where interests may be being disgusted.

hi and welcome to the board,

i wonder if any other med besides gabapentin could help you. i was on that and switched to lyrica. more expensive but it worked better. i'm not pain free but it's tolerable. mine's from MS.

have you seen a foot dr?

good luck here. it's a great place.

Smile Hello Kasey

I sure understand where you are coming from. I am ever grateful for this forum. People really care and I honestly don't know where I'd be if it weren't for NT. The Peripheral Neuropathy forum is chalked full of valuable info (be sure to check out the top of the page in the PN forum - tips, supplements, etc)

My heart goes out to you and I hope you stick around.
