Hi there! I am new here and am currently searching for answers. For the past 3 years I've been suffering what appears to be internal tremors. It started everytime I woke up abruptly I would feel a fine tremor in my head. It then kept me from falling asleep. Then one night when I was laying in bed, I felt a sudden flutter in my chest. Of course this caused me to panic! I then decided to see the doc and they did an ekg and a heart echo and everthing came back normal. Well they asid i had anxiety and sent me on my way.
Fast forward 3 yrs later, I had the same episodes and went back to the doc. They did blood work, came back normal, another EKG, normal. They did diagnose me with h pylori and began treatment for that. Two weeks later, I had heaviness to my legs and not to mention all the muscle twitching all over my body. I had am MRI of the head and lumbar spine came back normal. Any idea to what this could be. I also need to mention I have idiopathic neuropathy. What frustrates me the most is the flutter I feel in the chest area. PleAse help!! Thanks |

Welcome to NeuroTalk:
People with low magnesium levels and get all sorts of twitches and odd feelings. Low magnesium is common in PNers too. Here is my magnesium thread on how to use and how much to take and how to choose an effective form (either food sources or supplements, or topical lotions). http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1138.html Please visit our PN forums, and start to read up. There are other things that may work for you. But start slowly with the magnesium first. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum20.html

Thank you so much for your post. I finally got to see the neurologist and he did find that reflexes on my left side are different from my right side. So now I'm off to get an MRI of the cervical spine. In addition to tons of bloodwork and a sleep study. He also did mention that I have alot of T-4 according tinny blood test. I will take a look at the link. Thank you!

Hi to all!
Just thought I'd give an update. It might help someone experiencing the same symptoms. I finally received the results to the MRI of the cervical spine. Turns out my neck is bending in the opposite direction and I have some bulging discs in C5-C6 that is compressing my spine. Now I have to make and appointment with a neurosurgeon. I'm a bit nervous but that might explain some of the symptoms I've been feeling. Hope everyone is doing well out there ![]() |

Hello smilylinda,
I am sorry the results of your cervical spine show such trouble. I too reversed the curve of my spine. I would like to put in a word of caution. I oritionally had surgery on C6-7. I was not told there were weak points or other trouble with vertrebre above or below that point. I never received a copy of my MRI or doctors evaluation after the surgery. Six years later, because the reverse of my spine was not corrected the other places in my neck failed. Last year I was fused C3-7, after taking out the old hardware, and redoing the rest of my neck. I hope that you will look in to the condition of all of the spinal cord before you make any decision with a neuro surgeon, and do the homework I failed to do the first time around. I really had no idea that there were more problems in my neck than were told to me. For the second fusion, I did all my homework, regarding MRI's and had a different surgeon. My second surgery was successful, I cannot complain, but it was very difficult to go through. All the corrective measures should have been taken the first time around, as the reversal of the curve of the spine usually involves more than one of the vertrebre. I do wish you all the best in your endeavors to correct your spine. Please do all your homework and I am sure things will turn out oK for you. ginnie |
