Red face Hi and Help!

Hi there
My name is Liz(nickname Biz) and I live in NZ. Im 52yrs old. 30 years ago I had a major car accident where I fractured my pelvis, spine and also herniated a disc. Two years later, I then had failed surgery on the disc (L5/ S1 ) due to scar tissue around the nerve that has permanently damaged the nerve. So I just had to accept this and live with the pain which has severely disabled my life in all that I do, but I had to accept it. A year ago, I slouched on a chair and received more new terrible pain that has not gone away, down my leg and in my spine. I only found out today after further tests that this is probably due to the fact that my spinal fusion never fused and that I have what is called a "non-union fusion" or pseudoarthrosis. Its basically a break in my bone that I have been living with for all this time(due to the operation not working) and now that I have put pressure on the broken joint, it has become much worse.
I have been suicidal with pain and have been ignored so many times. My social life is destoyed, my family life hindered. WHats worse a year ago my husband and I lost our house in a severe Earthquake in our city. My anger is beyond anger and now the new doctor says he MAY be able to help the pain with another operation, but he cant help the nerve damage pain. I am so confused and have searched for info on the internet and cant find it. Does anyone know of this condition, does anyone live with it and do they find anything helpful? Did they have another operation to fix it?
Many thanks
Liz (or Biz)

Default Struggles

I am so sorry for your pain. The little I have been through has given me a peek at what chronic pain is like. Please do not despair and know you are not alone.
