Default HI!

Hi,

My name is Wendi. I have found you all when searching for answers regarding my recent diagnosis of Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have also been diagnosed with OCD and Anxiety Disorder...but in the past. However, I am having much trouble with acceptance of the atn diagnosis; the OCD and anxiety are not helping and I think are worse than they ever have been in my life. I can't kick the idea that "they," as in the doctors, are missing something...and I've seen hypochondria rear its ugly head in my chart (ahhh...the marvels of patient internet access to records)...and I alternate between paralyzing fear and extreme anger and immense sadness. Not to mention even I realize I am a different person than I was back before July when all this started. I realize I haven't given much detail...and I hope that I will in the appropriate forum. Just wanted to give a glimpse of the "psych" end of the "neuro" diagnosis I am attempting to wrap my mind around...

Thanks for listening, glad to meet you all, and look forward to interacting soon!

Welcome to Neuro Talk Wendi!!! Reading your post reminded me of my own personal experience. About 20 years ago I was in a rehab center instead of being home. I had my second back surgery and couldn't walk. I was told that I would never walk again...my rehab therapist....we called him Dr. Pain...told me that he was going to help me accept my disability and how to live with my pain!!! I wanted to throw anything I could reach at him! I told him to leave my room because I was never going to do that! Well, 6 surgeries later I have quit fighting and I learned more patience with myself. That's not to say I don't get anxious at times when there is something challenges me. You have found a very safe place to look for friendship and answers! Again, welcome to NT!!!!
