Smile New here with Peripheral Neuropathy

Hi, I am 33 years old, and was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy this past July, ugh! I am currently taking 100mg of Topamax in the morning and 100mg of Topamax at night. It has helped so much with the burning sensations that I have suffered with for YEARS. my toes on both feet currently are curling under, i have loss of strength in my feet aned ankles, foot drop. it sucks. but i am not going to give up hope! today is a good day for me, i admit i sink into depression about it bc i am so young. it would be easier if i were older. my dr. has warned me that there is a chance that i could be on braces by the time i am in my 50-60's and that hurts i am a runner, but have slowed down a lot bc of of the weakness in my feet, it depresses me. i am very thankful for a loving husband who supports me when i am down, he is my rock.

Greetings fellow pain mate I take Topomax as well. It is a great med as far as I am concerned. I also take Neurotin twice a day.

I have RSD/CRPS. One of the side effects is hair loss. So I get it when you talk about depression. I feel as if I am getting my butt kicked every turn I take.

Peace
