Hello all!
New here to the site and really enjoying reading the posts and knowing that I am not alone. I am 43 years old and have had 6 closed head traumas since childhood. I am currently disabled because of the TBI's, having lost my successful career 8 years ago, and I am continuing to experience even more physical and cognitive issues as time passes. I was miss-diagnosed for years as being Bi-Polar (lack of knowledge about TBI with most physicians) and have only recently found a knowledgeable Nueropsychologist who specializes in TBI's that is helping me get the medical help I need. He "get's me!" FINALLY someone understands me and is addressing the REAL issues!
My TBI's have caused me to have insomnia, sensory problems, tinnitus, cognitive issues, ear pain, balance and speech issues, memory problems, migraines, ADHD, B12 deficiency, and now possible absent seizures that I am going to see another neurologist for in May. This is the short version.

It's been a fun ride! lol
It is still hard to accept the deficiencies in how the TBI's have affected me, but I'm grateful I have what I have and a very supportive family and friends. I consider myself lucky!
I'm looking forward to reading the posts, learning from you and helping others where I can also. It's nice to be here.
