Default tell me i dont have multiple sclerosis

Hi all ! I'm new here and so are my symptoms
I've been freaking out for the past three months fearing i have ms
A little info about me! I am a twenty yearold male. Ive been having symptoms that sound like ms.im scared to death!!it haunts me all day everyday! It affects my life at home and at work and its so sad to think i could have this terrible disease at only twenty years old.its so scary!heres my back ground with injuries tgat could have possibly triggered my symptoms.about four years ago i was hit by a pickup truck on my bicycle.i suffered from bad bone bruises on my femurs on both legs .i was knocked unconscious and woke up in a hospital. The did an mri..or ct scan..i forget which but the said they were worried i have an "air bubble" on the lining of my brain.now that i think about it im scared they mistaken it for a lesion, which ive been reading about.but anyway, after this all happened i would get dizzy spells and obviously my knees were messed up still..but they were nothing like the symptoms I'm experiemcing now. A luttle over one year ago i was in a car accident and smashed my jeep into a tree .i busted my lip open and my neck hurt a little afterwards..but still the symptoms im having now are scaring me more than those two incidents combined.heres all my strange sgmptoms ove been having..it started with an area of my righg legs on the lower portion of my **** that was completely numb.that scared me but i just said it could be poor circulation. Two weeks after it went away and a new symptoms occured,it fel like my hips were tight and reakky sore and i constantly stretched them and it did nothing.that eventually subsided but they're stool kind of tight.more recently, the backs of my knees feel tight for no reason,i have tingling sensations my limbs.some burning in the backs of my knees sometimes.Vertu faint pins and needles feeling in my left arm.tightness in both of my arms, back, hips.i have what seems to be a buzzing feeling on my mid back to the left of my spine.sometimes its buzzing or vibrating,or sometimes its just pain,or its feels like my back is bleeding but it always occurs in one spot.i get deep buzzing feeling mostly in my legs.i get goosebumps for no reason almost anywhere .my feet feel like theyre shaking sometimes too.im literally scared ********.this is the best i can describe these symptoms .i aant to know if anybody has these same symptoms or had them before a diagnosis of ms or some other neurological disorder.i know its not stress or anxiety realted cuz it happens whenever it wants.sometimes i get throbbing or shooting pains down my arms.and sometimes when i want to fall asleep i feel wgat seems to be an intense rush of energy down my thighs and hips like they just want to fly out from beneath me.well...thats all my symptoms and sorry for the long post but this is my first one!! So people, please reply and help a kid out because i dont want to think ill be in a wheelchair at the age of 30 . Ms doesnt run in my family and im in healthy shaoe and exercise and run and rides bikes daily. These symptoms dont make me tired or exhausted and i sleep fairly normal and eat right .i do hvac as a profession and its hard work and i dont see a change in my work after all this started.im just terrified!!! Thanks for reading let me know what u think!

Sorry to read you are going through all of this. Are you currently seeing a neurologist for all of these symptoms? The diagnostic process can take time, there is something called the Differential Diagnosis, and all other things need to be ruled out before MS is classified.

Worrying about any illness is a challenge, let alone MS. Rest assured, not everyone with MS ends up disabled nor in a wheelchair nor blind, etc.

Keep in mind, we are a group of patients here, not medical professionals, so giving a yea or nea about diagnosis, cannot truly happen. The neuro exam will be able to detect loss of motion, feeling, tingling, etc.

The one part of your symptom list, reminded me, of Sciatica, the rest, of course it could be, it may not be MS. ((it was the **** to right leg part, I get that from a herniated disc from time to time, otherwise, there are MS symptoms that I do experience.))

Staying active is certainly a good thing. Dizziness, hate to say it, isn't usually MS related, I get these too. An anti-anxiety script has greatly helped me get those dizzy/near fainting moments under control, it's a panic attack. Which, oddly enough, if you wonder about which comes first, the chicken or egg, anxiety can be a new thing to deal with, as it can come after having MS. Lesions on the brain can wreak havoc and cause a physiological response, meaning, it's a physical thing, not something that you can control with controlling it/your emotions. Physical Anxiety, yes, for me, is something I have with having MS. Doesn't hurt to have meds to help with symptom management since the meds out there for MS are mainly to TRY and slow the progression, not cure nor erase damage.

Have you checked out the MS Forum, here on NeuroTalk? http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum17.html Sometimes, MSers here, get busy over there and don't always see the new posters under the General Introductions.

You mention doing labor work and worrying about a future without disability. I would say I've had this illness for 13 years now. Not disabled, my MS is mainly Optic Neuritis and my vision is 20/20 and 20/25. I was 25. I work, as a Kitchen Manager, which means I work as a Cook in a HOT kitchen, during the school years. One can have this illness and still lead a productive life.

It's just the initial shock, during that first couple years of being examined, getting a prognosis, then diagnosis and then some of us MSers, just stop thinking about it, in a general sense. As in life goes on, almost as if it doesn't feel like it exists, albeit, knowing in the back of your mind that it does exist.

Hope you get the support and answers you need!! Hang in there

I forgot to mention these styrene symptoms arrived after i had some reaction to something whick made my glands under my ears swell up.theyre still kind of swollen and theres lymphnodes? On my legs that got big for done reason and are still like that.I'm getting blood work done too.I'm sure you've heard AOL types of stories maybe you could help me relate to somebody u know! Byt i know ms is hard to diagnose. I forgot to mention i sometimes feel like i get the fight or flight response down my left arm usually the left, sometimes right.like when someone scares u and u get that sorta adrenalin rush throughout your body..its friking weird!

Hi Hon.

Just wanted to stop and say Welcome.

I'm so sorry to hear what you are dealing with. You are so young. I really hope you get some answers. Keep posting. Others will come along and give you more info.

Until then, here's a hug. It's about all I can do right now.

Check out the MS Forum here, there's men there. Also, there's a Mens Only Forum here, too.

Have you, also seen a chiropractor? I went to one, for a while, that's how I know all about my herniated discs.

I hear what you mean, about bad things happening to good people. Often, times, it feels that way, I truly get that.

Symptom treatment is usually the course, for many of those of us, with MS, as it is.

Sometimes, reading into MS, can be a mind game, in and of itself.

There's also a Chronic Pain group here, too, that many find helpful, to talk to other patients that may have some advice, and direction to give.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum10.html

With or without, answers, at the moment, it's important to have those symptoms treated. Sometimes, as patients, when we focus on the potential illnesses, instead of the immediate symptoms, the doctors cannot help. And sometimes, if the doctors aren't listening and taking your pain seriously, then it's time for a second or even a third opinion.

Default hello Novo

welcome to Neuro Talk. I know it is hard not to be afraid of all those symptoms. Try to get to a good neurologist for proper testing. Don't panic, just come back here while you are waiting to see the doctor, or going through testing. This is a compassionate site with lots of good people who will help you go through it. There are people here with MS, who will talk to you. I came here freaking out over my own condition, and found help and support. You will too. Be calm as you can and follow the advise in the above post about the testing. Write a list of your symptoms, time, location, intensity, all of it down. this will also help your doctor in DX. I keep a pain journal for the same reason.
I use just a calander to keep track. This site will be here to help you in any way it can. If you post where you live near, there may be someone here on NT, with information on a good physician. I will keep you in my thoughts. ginnie
