Hi everyone,
I am new to this and came hoping to find some answers or at least logical thought. About 9 months ago i started having episodes that last for days where my resting heart rate will jump to 125 bpm, and my blood pressure will hit 190/150. When i have these episodes my chest hurts and is very tight, i get sick and vomit rather violently when i stand up for any length of time. Three hospitalizations and a ton of tests i have no answers. Im on bp meds and a beta blocker to control my heart rate, which doesnt make the symptoms disapperar but rather helps with the severity. Ive been episodic now for three straight days while taking my medications and i feel like im having a heart attack,am nausious and periodically throw up. Hy hr is over 110 bpm at rest. I call the nurse line and they tell me to go to the ER like stat, but ive been down that road and its been the same result. They keep telling me its either anxiety or effects of prolonged high bp. I dont feel anxious and it happens frequently when im calm and at rest......im so tired of this. any thoughts here? |

A ton of tests and no answers?
That must be VERY frustrating. I had sinus tachycardia and angina, many cardiac tests, and no answers. Put on various meds. Several years later, my cardiac issues actually "showed" on the tests. I think our body tells us long before the tests show what is going on with us. Just my opinion. By the time it showed up, there was a lot of damage. I hope you get answers quickly. Would you be willing to share with us what some of the tests were? Were you seen by a cardiologist? I am not sure I would just write it off as anxiety too quickly. While that may be the issue, which can elevate your heart rate and blood pressure, I would want to be sure there was not another reason before I would attribute to anxiety. What is your history? Do you suffer from anxiety normally? Do you have some extraordinary stress in your life presently? Were you on any medications prior to these attacks? Please only share if you are comfortable with doing so. I do not mean to pry. Last edited by Hopeless; 08-14-2013 at 10:27 PM. Reason: spelling |
