Default Hey all question on testing/damage

So i am currently 28 and when I was 15 years old I was at a party I shouldn't have been at and was thrown in to a steel radiator head first by a gang member. The bleeding was so profuse that I was spitting blood out of my mouth to breath, and I head a head ache for weeks, and still have a very thick scar on my head about an inch long extending from my forehead back just above the hairline. I realize this isn't a diagnosis forum, but I really feel that this is still affecting my life. I know I had a terrible concussion, but what I once thought was pain/guilt/emotional hurt from the event seems to have turned in to a permanent state.
I cannot help to think that this may have something to do with my massive mood swings, anxiety, rumination, and depression. Granted i had a pretty rough up bringing, but I was generally a pretty happy person until this injury. do things that I shouldn't do even though I know I shouldn't do them while im doing them, and I am a complete emotional roller coaster, but I can't figure out whether or not its the injury, my emotional up bringing (lots of co dependancy issues, lived in squallor, and was on my own to fend for myself for food etc as early as 5), or a brutal combination of both.

I have a some questions.

Does damage to the front left side of the head cause emotional problems?

What kind of testing would need to be done to see if there is permanent damage?

If testing is done, would are there any ways that blunt trauma can even be treated, especially so far after the fact?

Does pschology (i am against psychiatry) offer any relief for if injuries like this are affecting me? (idea would be to kill 2 birds with 1 stone if i can)

If anyone gets around to answering this thanks a bunch.
