Hello all of you brave men and women, I first posted in the multiple sclerosis thread because I was showing possible signs, but I did get a head MRI and it came back clean. Now I'm posting here because I don't know where to go next ( I'll try to keep this as brief as possible ). I'm a 21 year old male, almost 22. Basically, I've been showing a lot of very strange symptoms for the last 3-4 months, even longer than that, but it was always brief for a short amount of time, but has gotten more serious.
In short, I'm experiencing symptoms like a feeling of pulling, mainly in the front of my neck like something is stuck in my throat, my head always feels like it has pressure ( but not a headaches ) Like the front of my forehead, neck, eyes, and jaw all feel like it has this pressure that causes my head to feel like it keeps moving, my body kind of jerks sometimes too ( mainly back or legs ). I also have a constant tingling in my forehead and top of nose. It's almost like being dizzy but very slight to where I can function and things are 90 percent stable. Certain days I get shooting pains in my shoulders, inside my ears, sides of head, feet, and sometimes arms. I also get the pains in the side of my stomach. It's like a knife stabs me and is very painful. My head never feels still, like it sometimes will slightly move because of that pressure feeling, but its really slight, but always stays straight. I also have constant ringing in my ears, and it keeps getting louder, like extremely loud, and times where all of a sudden my hearing drops, and I just hear loud ring, then it goes down and my hearing comes back. I Have moments where I get really tired too. I also keep getting muscle twitching all over the place, lately in my arms, but also in thighs, back, legs and front of my neck, and it spazzes out like crazy. The latest symptom I have gotten 3 times now ( and this is not fun to talk about ) but I have times that after I urinate it starts burning and tingling, and feels like I have to still go for like an hour, and it slowly stops and goes away. It happened to me in class and was really uncomfortable. I also have moments where I start feeling weak and then slowly get better. Now, the reason I'm explaining all these signs is I was hoping you guys could direct based on these symptoms. I went to a neurologist/physician, he had an MRI of my head, and said it was clean, and it doesn't seem like he's totally listening to me. He thinks it's anxiety and that I'm focusing on it too much. I can tell you right now, I thought it was too at first, but it really is not. I mean, these aren't normal symptoms, and they are VERY noticeable and effects me every single day. Should I get a second opinion? Is there a certain specialist I should see? Do my symptoms seem like something you might know about? Any help with this would be appreciated. I also want to add, I had a couple of head injuries in the past, but my MRI was clean, so I think it clears that out, and about two months ago I fell down concrete stairs on my butt and back, but I was able to get up. I had some pain/discomfort for a few weeks, but it got better, and I was still able to stretch and didn't really feel much pain after the fall. Though these signs were starting to show like a month before my fall. I'm so confused, I have no idea what's going on and what I should do next. Like, I don't understand what could be happening to a young male like me. I also want to add, I have traveled to a lot of foreign countries such as Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Maryland ( I was in Maryland for a month ) in the last two years. I actually went to Maryland in the summer of 2012, and was hiking around in the woods weekly wearing shorts and non long sleeve shirts. Which makes me wonder if I should get tested for Lyme. There are more signs, but these are the main ones. I have had days too where I get bad migraines, but its like once every two weeks. I'm starting to wonder if this is an infection/bacteria of some sort. - Sorry if that was a bit to read, but for those who read and respond, I seriously greatly appreciate it. This is messing up my life at the moment, and I just want to get better. I can hardly focus on school, I feel foggy all the time with annoying symptoms. I can say this a dark rode, but in a way I feel stronger about everything in life and am a lot more appreciative. If I come out of this, I will never complain about anything again. Good luck to all of you ![]() |
