Neuropathy after coma
hello i'm brand new to this group.
I'm 25 years old and over weight last year in April i got pneumonia. i was induced in a coma for about a month i was awake for 12 days and allowed to go home. After about a week and a half of being at home i lost consciousness and was rushed to the emergency room. I went to several hospitals and remained in horrible condition.I was in a coma AGAIN for about 3 more months and my family was basically told that i was going to die. I had major organ failure. Out of Gods grace i managed to pull out of it and surprisingly what was suppose to take 6 or 7 months of recovery i did in about a month and a half. while being hospitalized i had a major burning sensation on the top of my feet, that seemed to be the only feeling i had. I was sent to a rehabilitation and i had major swelling in my feet daily along with burning, numbness,no movement in toes or ankles and a non stop tingling sensation after movement. I've been home since august and i'm currently using a walker to be mobile but i still have no balance or movement in my toes and ankles. The only sensation i have is the inside of my ankle to the arch of my foot.My left calf muscle seems to be really stiff on the outside part only from the top of my calf to my ankle. I'm going through authorization to have the Gastric Bypass procedure done,so my question is this..has anybody experienced this before?what can i do to help speed the process along and will me going with the Bypass help? will acupuncture or massages help? (i use a vibrating massager and it seems to give me painful tingling feeling) THANK YOU
