Hi Marco, welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm sorry you have to be here, though. I notice that you have chronic pain. Here's a link to that forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10 Here is a link to the Children's Health forum too... maybe some of the parents in there can give you some advice. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 I hate to say this, but your daughter sounds like my oldest son, Chris. He, too, showed no sympathy towards others, was very demanding, and highly intelligent (to the point he looked down upon others). He received a full presidential scholarship to San Francisco State. I did my best for many years to help him, took him to many dr.s too, but none of it seemed to help much. I think he mainly learned how to hide it from people. He's borderline sociopathic. It scares me, especially now that he lives far away and I am not around to try and help him maintain control. So you have my prayers and my hugs ![]() Wow. I have never told anyone here at NT about Chris. This will come as a big shock to them. But I felt I had to come forward, because if this is what is going on with your daughter, it's vital that you find out right away.

Hi Scarlata and welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm sorry for all that you are going through.
I see you've been given some very good links. You may want to go to the homepage of NeuroTalk and browse through the forums. There is a Bipolar, ADD and all kinds of information. Here is a link to all of the forums. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/index.php You're really between a rock and a hard place! Doesn't her university have student health care? It should be a part of her fees for college. Of course, getting her to go there is a different story. Insurance is so expensive. ![]() ![]()

It's good to meet you. I'm really sorry to hear that you are going through the double problem of being disabled yourself and having a daughter with possible medical problems. I can only imagine how demanding that must be. I hope and pray that your obvious love for your daughter will get through to her, and that she'll repay it with love and respect of her own. Good luck to you and your daughter, and God bless you both...
