Default hand grip

i am type 1 diabetic and have an appointment 2 weeks away with Doctor but have worried myself . i have been suffering with a sore shoulder that has gone away and comes back but more concerning is i lost grip in left hand yesterday and when i hold palm of my hand out my fingers are moving ever so slightly. Does anyone know if this is a sign of neuropathy or perhaps something more sinister.
