I'm an oldie (from the days BEFORE Brain Talk .... maybe when the internet/web was just a baby and Harvard folks moderated things. (And I knew G. Washington personally
![]() I'm interested in how folks with one disability ('whatever' - physically-based, i.e., post-polio, some syndrome or....???) also cope with depression (am guessing that depression is both situational as a result of coping w/ a disability, but also biological - maybe gene related - maybe somehow connected to original (physical) disability). I also appreciate reading about the guidelines here ... maybe it's my own paranoia or whatever, but I have (personally) been rather intimidated by some who have posted on BrainTalk - like if you ask or answer something that Makes Someone Else Upset .... ish. And I miss all the "old stuff" ..... 'way back when there was some type of art or self-expression forum on the Old Harvard site - it truly felt good to post there as an expression of long-held, pent-up feelings. And pfffffst! it is all gone ![]() ![]() |

Hi, Munchkin!
![]() My dx of MS didn't depress me, nor did the circumstances in its wake, but the brain went there under its own power. This is highly uncharacteristic for me and, thankfully, my neuro spotted it. Sometimes in MI winters, I get a little blue and bored, but I'm on a low dose of Paxil and it adequately steadies my course. ![]()

Hi Munchkin and welcome to NeuroTalk, a very supportive and caring community...you'll see!
My depression came as part of my package at birth. I didn't even realize I had depression until I went on antidepressants after a head injury in a car accident. It's there, I deal with it best I can. My daughter is the same way and is also on antidepressants. Again welcome! ![]()
