Default New here

I am new here and having trouble finding my way around the site, I am 52 years old and have been treated in the past for situational anxiety. 2 years ago my doctor put me on prozac 20mg for depreion, In Dec 08 he increased it to 40mg... since the feeling of emptynes and dispair were not improving he suggested I see a psychiatrist. I did 5/18/09. His evaluation was long term ADD with depression. He decided to treat the ADD and took me off the Prozac and started me on Focalin. It does help me keep more focused and I am all for that but I have had some very dark depressed days to the point of not being able to function. I see him tomorrow...anyone have suggetions as to what I should address... I want the depression controled. I am afraid my job is at risk.

Hello and WELCOME!!!

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through...

I can only suggest that you be VERY open with your Psychiatrist and let him know EXACTLY how you are feeling. Don't hold back but don't exagerate either. You don't want under medicated or treatment nor over medicated or treatment.

I wish you the best.

Abbie

Welcome to the site.

I am not sure if the depression or anxiety groups are very active here.

But if you would like some support the bipolar group is. And anyone
is welcome to come join us and talk. We are good listeners.

Also when it comes to the medication issue I hope that your psychiatrist
listened to you.
