'So sorry for what you are going through.
It's common for children to be diagnosed (wrongly) first with ADD before getting diagnosed with bipolar. She might have Bipolar as you suggest (the fact that it runs in the family is important.) This organization might be of help. It's a support group for family members: NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness. THey have meetings in lots of communities or you can contact them on-line I believe. My Suggestion: She needs an appointment with a psychiatrist who works with patients with bipolar so that you can get more insight than you have with the professionals so far. |

Mari, Is so correct. You could also start with an therapist that
can then help you get her into an psychiatrist. I'm not positive but I'm guessing you might be overseas. Which might make it harder to get into one with out the doctor helping you. Can you take her to the hospital when this is going on next time, and show all the other texts and the other incident you have on record? That might be a way to get help too. Not that I would want you to have to wait if its at all possible to get help before. Also is the school any help, can they help by getting you into some one also. It might be that the person they can get you into you would have to pay. But sometimes its ones that if the right income its free. Donna |
