I'm buried in old forum posts for the book and there are so many that i thought i'd post a few here that we might not use or already have something similar.
i found Murray charters Houston We Have a Problem thread and cried. We are including a tribute to those no longer with us. This thread is started by one of those special missed friends in lighter days. http://web.archive.org/web/200310192...ML/008775.html it's for chuckles; in spite of the fact that it shouldn't be for me- too close to the truth. paula

Amazing. The year 2003. Amazing conversations. Funny, informative, brave. This whole site is a world of its own - huge collections of information plus a constant buzz of many different conversations at once. Thanks and gratitude to whoever all it was who did the gigantic amount of work to build this site and keep it going. Anyone who has kept a website going knows how much work it is - but most of our sites, like mine, are small and personal. This one is a huge combination of I don't know what all - university, friendship, debate, fortress, battleground, fight for life, passion, comparison of drugs, advocacy, emotional rescue, free reading material, contacts around the world... you know this is new in the history of the world, this whole internet thing, and it has only just begun.
Thank you to whoever it all was who somehow made this happen. It required an Andy Grove to make the computer chips so we could do this, and it required Paula and I don't know who all - to put those computer chips to good use. |

Bob, your words are so wonderful-- an eloquent description of the site and the process. It is amazing, isn't it? I'm so glad I'm living now, not 50 years ago. |

yes Bob and i think your quote above...

Can I use it? We are going to ask more officially for poster permission to quote, but this one jumps right out and says why we are writing it. paula [quote=Bob Dawson;562209] Quote:

paula Oh Paula, you can use anything I write anytime, and you do not have to say it was me; and same for anyone involved in anything about pd |

Hi Bob - thanks for permission to use your words.
Just curious - why are you showing an "angry" mood? If it's private, just tell me it's none of my business and I'll go away. lol Peg |

Angry about Amgen and what was done. Did not know about this. Less angry now - was pacing up and down the floor and chopping fire wood in anger all day; now not so bad but I wake up angry in the morning. Nothing dangerous, unless people are worried about the steam coming out of my ears.

Bob Dawson, and Paula, I was looking through my PD poetry, preparing to show it at the annual oregon symposium when I ran accross the only poem i spacificly wrote about my GDNF Amgen experience. i see i was pretty ters in it. here it is.i will ... for line down change. GDNF... principles wed... patients read... need fed... took meds... shorn heads... can't forget... GDNF... alone bed... double blinded... sudden end... hope fled... web net... empathy sent... GDNF... lies spred... inquest... fear bred... pretext... heart bled... all said... GDNF... match met... a short deck... saw red... lost bet... what's left... instead?... GDNF i might add - dispite all there was benefit. there is hope and i still think GDNF could be a partial answer and aid. that is just my personal opinion.
