Sunil,
I'm also curious about the results of the Paneri protocol. Frankly, I wouldn't ingest anything without knowing what's in it and how it was certified free of dangerous contaminants. However, as you must know, the protocol is based on Ayurvedic principals. I have worked with an Ayurvedic practitioner here in California and I have found the program she gave me does indeed make me feel better. There are plenty of simple techniques you can try without spending a dime and there are blends of herbs you can buy from a trusted source and put together yourself easily enough. I'd be happy to share info but don't want to spend time writing if you or others are not interested. |

Hi, I just got in touch with Dr Paneri for my husband and I wondered how you are getting along with your treatment? I am planning to call him and have a chat before I buy anything from him. Also as a Dr did you test the medication to see what it is made up of? Hope all is good with you. Thank you

Hi lurkingforacure! Can you tell me what type of mucuna you use. I'm new to the forum and am interested in trying this.

We take 1.5 teaspoons mixed in a bit of water whenever the meds aren't working, which is often, unfortunately. It comes on much faster than sinemet, even if you have eaten, but....it doesn't last very long and it falls of rather abruptly. But if you need to get somewhere, or are stuck, it has been very helpful for us. Tastes awful, though, and stains like the dickens.! |

I ordered a supplement of mucuna from NOW products. But will research Banyan Botanicals. Thank you!

keep in mind that LURKING also takes an agonist and carbidopa/levodopa (sinemet) which will give different results than just taking mucuna by itself. without the carbidopa, most of the l-dopa will break down before it gets to your brain and form dopamine which may cause nausea and can't pass the blood brain barrier, that's why we take l-dopa, not dopamine. i'm not saying don't try it but you need to know a little bit about the chemistry here.
my impression is most people use mucuna as an adjunct to C/L. L-DOPA was first derived from mucana and i think fava beans before it was synthesized. i wouldn't expect any better treatment of tremor from mucana but you have nothing to lose. |

Thanks for the info. Just put on Sinemet 3x's daily 25/100 and trying to define terms and understand the chemistry too. Another gentlemen mentioned an agonist also pramipexole - Mirapex. it is all so overwhelming but I image everyone here feels the same. Any suggestions - was on Azilect initially with primidone. After a week switched to Sinemet. Some relief.
Thank you! Ellis Quote:
