Default Weekly Check-In Feb 25-Mar 3, 2007..Welcome New Community Members

Hi Everyone..Welcome to our new community members!..We are glad you found us, so make yourselves at home and become a part of our community!

The weather is starting to break a bit from the bitter cold that engulfed us for a few weeks..and I got out a couple of days and started to get my new boat ready for work..Ive had plenty of time to rest up with this lousy weather and all, but find that I still have to take it easy because my foot flares up if I overdo it, but not nearly as bad as it did a couple of weeks ago or so

I went to my other support group this morning and basically we had a discussion meeting amongst ourselves because we didnt have a speaker scheduled, and it looks like we also may not have a group facillitator anymore as well, as he is not feeling that well anymore and just doesnt have the time to devote to it, as hes the founder of the group and figures hes served his tour of duty, which is most understandable..Great guy!!..The meeting allowed many of us to talk about how pd is impacting our lives, and caregivers as well..It was a good meeting for folks to get info from each other and get some issues off their chest..It was very intimate..This is the group that Jim Finn belongs to although Jim wasnt able to make it today..Jim if you remember is the gentleman who had the experimantal pig stem cell transplant back in 1996..He is in the process of writing a book about his experiences with that..I will update you all on that when it is ready for publishing if anyone is interested

I started taking a half teaspoon of cough syrup with dextromethorphan before bed every night since a week ago wednesday, and Ive found that it helps with my symptoms, and remarkably so far I might add..There are some studies on it suggesting that it is neuro protective, and I figured that I am not pleased with the progression rate of my pd over the past year..so its time to try something different thats simple, and inexpensive as well..If I go down it wont be for the lack of putting up a fight..Ive been on the sidelines reading and listening and decided that its time to act

How was your week?

Altered picture of the week:..

Disorder in the court
