Default azilect and headaches

I've been taking Azilect for a month and today I have a severe headache which is unusual for me. Has anyone else taking Azilect had the same problem?

Default Or maybe itls just a coincidence

Or maybe i'ts just a coincidence? Oh, and it has so far lasted for 7 hours. I'm having a hard time doing anything other than lay in my bed in the dark with my hands on my head. Maybe the worst I've ever had. Thanks so much for any replies.

Curem,
Take an aspirin or two.
Not only will it act as an analgesic but it could be (and I'm sorry if this scares you) the beginnings of a stroke and this might have a preventative action.
Better to be safe.
Go see a Dr as well especially since the headache you're having is out of the ordinary for you.
Haven't taken the anti parkinson drug you mentioned, maybe someone else reading has and can comment regarding it and headaches?
Best Wishes,
Lee

I agree, if this is new for you, and it has lasted that long, I would see a doctor.
get it checked out.........

Also have not taken this drug, but think it is possible it has nothing do with the headache, it is wise not to assume unless there is a direct link between dosing and the headache event. Not everything that goes wrong with us can be ascribed to PD and its treatment.....

I tried azilect for a couple of weeks on two different occasions. Each time I ended up getting very mild headaches -- nothing like the one you experienced -- but annoying enough to persuade me to stop taking the medication.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll speak to my neuro this week about changes in meds.

Jon, did you suffer any ill effects from stopping the Azilect? I've been off it for three days and my tremors seem a bit worse. Did you replace the Azilect with something else? I haven't had a chance to talk to my doctor yet because he did not return my call on Friday.

Default Azilect and headaches

I have been taking Azilect for the last 2 years and never had such a problem. I think the cause is somewhere else. My doctors told me that Azilect which is Rasagiline has a proven effect for slowing down the progress of the disease. Additionally some people claim to have some symptoms becoming milder when taking Azilect. Personally I have not seen any symptoms becoming milder. I would suggest that you stop taking Azilect for a few weeks and see whether the headaches go away. If they do then simply just stop Azilect. For symptoms I do not think you will need any replacement. As to slowing down progress I recommend another proven treatment that is taking high doses of co-enzyme Q10. These are from my personal experience. The best is of course to follow what your doctor says. Please keep us informed of the results.
