Confused Naps

First, this is my first post. I'm so glad to have found this board. I've learned so much already.

My dad was recently diagnosed, but is progressing quickly. His naps have increased to several times a day for short intervals. His lady friend keeps insisting that he shouldn't take these naps and keeps him up.

My question is... are they doing him any harm? He just seems so worn down in the evenings when he doesn't nap.

Thanks y'all.
