Default Note from John Lester

Hi:

Over the weekend I got this note from John Lester. Don't know how many others received this.

Lloyd

Subject: Braintalk Returns!
From: "braintalk@gmail.com" <braintalk@gmail.com>
Date:Sun, 24 Sep 2006 21:30:54 -0400 (EDT)

Greetings. We had a bad software and hardware crash recently and about
a month of downtime, but Braintalk is returning! I'm in the middle of
restoring the server and installing brand new software. Thank you for
your patience, and please visit http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums in
the next few days.

Take care,
-John Lester

...if the server melted down, how did they manage the mass mailing? Just suspicious...er, uh, I mean curious,

I'm staying here.

I tried the link but nothing...

Maybe by the end of the week?

And then what? Do we all move over there or stay here or do both or...

Geez...I'm tired now!

The way I feel Todd..Just before the meltdown, 3 of our veteran members were banned permenatly for something ridiculous and I've decided to stay here because of that and a host of other reasons as well

I never got the e-mail, but of course I never e-mailed him either. I checked the old "bookmark" today coincidentally (if you believe in that stuff) and it was reposessed by the cyber police as far as I could tell. Frankly, I'm quite comfortable where I am. I don't like what happened, especially the banning. The landlord here seems like a nice enough chap. This is where CS, Laura and the third guy (Yam?) who got banned are gonna be. I don't trust the other place, and is JL back on the road again after it's up and running? (or is that Willy Nelson??) Whatever... Time for this kid to go to bed. I'll check in tomorrow for more feedback.

Default MY sense...

... is more freedom here. I don't "see" any difference, it still says Brain Talk at the top of the page, but whatever. The quality of the posts so far is excellent with some new members really giving this place a nice touch to it. The fact that a thread with the word "********" wasn't pulled is testimony that this place (whatever the difference is) is more tolerable to our individual idiosyncracies. I like freedom and tolerance cs

Default Seems the announcement on the header page ...

confirms the position of BT 2 :

http://forums.braintalk2.org/announcement.php?f=34

I hadn't realised 3 of our veteran and most helpful contributors had been banned from BT 1. Really poor show by JL.

As long as BT 2 is active I'm staying, (Cue groans as yet more posts re. Spheramine are anticipated )

Aftermathman.

Default Pick a numba'

!,2- Do what you want to do...
This place dropped out of the sky, and seems to have a new "director", but don't let any of that effect your descisions. I say, just let them both run along with each other. It's almost zero time to put the other forum on your screen, so not a big deal to just look at both places. Maybe we'll have a "lighter" side and a "darker" side of PD as members on one side. Maybe we'll be organized on political grounds, dems and republes. Or, one group for the men only? How about IQ, or skin color, ventriloquists-non-ventriloquists, lazy vs lazyer? What doesn't matter? Everything evolves if given the chance to express itself over time.
On with the show. Step right up here young lady, step right up, here on the stage; yes ,that's right; up here on the stage. Now , do you know what "Parkinson's" is?
Just get as MANY of you to post something. There are between 900,000 and 1.2 million of us in the US alone. This is the US alone, do you think that we don't reach strange parts of the world, now that the www has brought us down to the same page or two, plus some good webgroup sites both public and private?
I know that the "computer not know" , "not care" attitude is in our most senior of PWP both in age and progression, but there are many, many of us in the 50-65 years, 1-15 years of progresssion. Why do we never hear from you. Are we to be read, without the benefit of YOUR expertise to pose an answer, or just get involved? So many PWP, so many computers, so much time on their hands, it's like trrying to confirm that aliens really exist I do declayah, whereinthehellahhya?
