Use of GDNF splice variants in gene therapy of Parkinsonīs disease Country of origin: FINLAND Finnish researchers have characterized splice variants of neurotrophic protein GDNF with great potential use as target in gene therapy for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, especially Parkinsonīs Disease (PD). In animal model of PD, one new splice variant is more efficient in gene therapy than the one that has been used so far for GDNF gene therapy.
