Default Do any of these symptoms sound like Parkinson's disease, should I investigate further

Hey guys
First time on here for me, I am a 30 year old male from Melbourne Australia...

My symptoms have been ongoing for almost four-5 years now with no diagnosis what so ever and are not stopping only getting worse.. Symptoms are as follows ..

Started with waking up with super tight feet I had to stretch, it then went to a shoulder as well each morning I would have to move shoulder and stretch feet, throughout the day they were fine unless I relaxed for long periods and they would become stiff again and sore.. Stiff lower back that would freeze and I had to try get my posture back

I then noticed at the gym one side of my body felt cold and numb like it was getting no blood no pump to it..

Besides that I had some general fatigue, the odd muscle fasciculations here and there this is how it all started..

Then one day I felt numb in one side of my face and I felt pins and needles or pin pricks like feeling in one of my shins.. Then all of a sudden over 2 days i did some gardening and noticed my right hand tremoring and very weak so i stopped, the next day i played basketball and that night all hell broke lose on my body and i woke with fasciculations all over and myoclonic jerks that lead into these symptoms..

symptoms:
1. high quantity of fasciculations everywhere in my body, you name it, i have twitched (still current)
2. postural tremors felt and seen as well as tremors if holding weight etc on any limb, body part (still current)
3. Proximal and distal muscle pain and feeling of weakness
3. myclonic sleep jerks and now some electric shock type jerks whilst awake that move my body and a limb (still current)
4. GERD, heartburn, scalloped tongue, slurring of some words my th's sometimes turn to f's, tongue biting on occasion whilst eating (still current)..food getting stuck in throat and needing a extra swallow
5. extreme muscle stiffness throughout whole body, feels difficult to hold my posture most days (still current)
6. extreme muscle pain that is sporadic and all over body periodically like sharp pains or deep pain (still current)
7. tingles, burning, ticklish itchiness that drives my crazy through out my whole body on occasions (still current)
8. a few cramps that kill or a feeling of a cramp like deep pain through out body parts, like pinching, like someone pinching me (still current)
9. extreme clicking of joints with pain involved, some ache without use and other days always in pain under stress (still current)
10. Got some issues downstairs like irritation and some impotence in dribbling urine .. not full blown impotence, can't get erection standing up anymore just laying down..
11. Eye floaters and had some brain fog where I didn't know a limb belonged to me that was blocking the TV vision it happen to my leg it was very weird and I am Mis reading words

Have not developed tremors of the outstretched hands but don't tremor at rest.

I have lumbar stenosis, degenerative discs, bulging discs in lower back and some thoraciic.

medical history for these symptoms
1. 8 neuro visits:
2. clinical exams always fine and passed, no clinical weakness seen even tho i feel weak and am tremoring and less stable
3. 5 emgs over 2 years, first emg was suggestive of mild chronic denervation, the other 4 were completely normal and clean
4. Dismissed by rheumatologist, said I was clean
5. All endocrine issues are fine besides a low vitamin d
6. Brain MRI is fine
7. Slightly elevated spinal fluid diagnosed with intracranial hypertension but currently not getting treated for it as neuro said let's just monitor it and pseudopapildemia in my eyes
8. Break out of red blot dots all over my body like petechia I think they are called
9. Had a feeling of fluid in my head since I was little and it makes my dizzy and I can hear my heart beat in my ear when I get up or a swooshing sound and I'm dizzy

Any help would be greatful, I have been so concerned with other possible diagnosis that keep coming up short.. I just now am looking in Parkinson's

Default I'd look at magnesium and B vitamins

Welcome to the club of involuntary members If it were me, I'd take a look at supplementing with some high quality magnesium and B vitamins and see what happens. It can't hurt, and it might help. I'm no doctor, though, so you'll want to run this past your medical guy/gal. If you read about B vitamins, you'll see how critical they are. And sleep. Getting enough is critical whether you have PD or adrenal fatigue or something else.

There are lots of tips on which forms of vitamins and minerals to take here on Neurotalk, and for magnesium you don't even have to take a pill-just Epsom salt baths (even just your feet) may be enough. I wouldnt' rush to a PD dx, either. PD has a way of not being ignored, and time will tell. I am one of those who believes ignorance is bliss, at least as long as there is no cure and nothing better than sinemet for symptomatic relief. Keep us posted.

Thank you so much for your reply, means a lot..

I'll look into the vitamins on the site and cover all basis in that area, great idea.

I'm curious, my symptoms have been ongoing for 5 years, no neurologist has ever said possible Parkinson's or even bought it up as a possibility ..

If my symptoms were from Parkinson's, after 5 years of severe symptoms wouldn't it be obvious to any dr? Or could they miss it?

[I have lumbar stenosis, degenerative discs, bulging discs in lower back and some thoraciic. ]

Do you have a copy of your written MRI report?
I wonder what kind of details /descriptions it has.
Some of your symptoms might be stemming from the spine.

On any medications at all now? for anything?
Any other diagnosis or known health issues?
Any family members with similar symptoms/conditions?

Have you considered any alternative treatment for the symptoms?
Perhaps acupuncture, chiropractic, or even expert PT to do an in-depth physical evaluation/assessment?

Maybe those might be of more help than MDs...

Default Yes, Doctors do miss the diagnosis of PD, all the time

My partner had textbook PD-precursor symptoms for five years and none of his five doctors figured it out until the giveaway tremor symptoms began. Your symptoms are not "typical" PD, but you could have "parkinsonism", which doesn't mean much more than saying you have PD (or any other mystery disease like Epstein-Barr, MS, HIV). Western medicine says it "doesn't know" what causes PD (and most of the other neurological diseases), but they now consider it "an autoimmune response" to environmental toxins and other stressors. It would make sense, then, that the medical establishment would address treatment by figuring out how to boost the immune system, right? Wrong-- the MDeities are only interested in treating symptoms and keeping you ill so you are locked into the Big Pharma Drug$ merry-go-round. Integrative medicine practitioners address the causes of disease and attempt to heal the patient using his own immune system, which is under attack by the invading organism (virus, bacteria, cancer, fungus, etc.). If you are looking to take an easy route out, you will not like my answer. You must embrace a lifestyle change that requires education, focus, and dedication. Start with adopting a ketogenic diet (no sugar, dairy, alcohol, or carbs/gluten), take probiotics, and read Dr. Perlmutter's books on healing your gut to heal your body. Get a series of colonics, and a liver/gallblader flush to remove blockages that prevent those powerhouse organs from doing their jobs. Get a book called The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush to see why the liver is critical to immune function. Exercise vigorously 20 minutes or more per day (stationary bike, hula-hooping, ashtanga yoga or qigong-- it doesn't have to be pumping iron or jogging). Meditate, get massages, or learn to reduce stress another way. Stress cripples the immune system. Google GcMAF therapy and read everything you can about it. The bottom line is, it doesn't matter what name they give your malady-- all illness boils down to a failure of our own internal healing mechanism, and any true and lasting remedy will be in support of returning the immune system to peak performance. Good luck to you.
