Would a different product be recommended -Zandopa for instance ???

Hello Ken,

I know next to nothing about this stuff. The only thing I know for sure that 15 years ago I started taking 12g of Vitamin C a day and it has made a great difference on my health. The only reason I'm telling you this, is that I believe that a powder form of drugs are cleaner and more powerful.

Now for myself I know that a powder form does get into your bloodstream a lot faster than taking a pill. So tomorrow I'm going to start with 2.5g of ZANDOPA followed by pills for the rest of the day. I've been advised to take it slow and I'm going to do just that.

I will post everyday for those of you that are interested

Keep well and keep the faith

In my experience, MP alone gives a quick spike followed by a quick plunge. Best results are just a pinch (literally) with the absolute minimum of meds needed to function - that's where trial and error comes in.

You might consider taking one day a week sans MP to keep from adjusting too much and losing effectiveness. You'll need extra meds of course.

One thing, being up typing at 1:00 AM is not a good thing. Been there, done that. Many times. Sign of need to adjust program.

Currently (2011) taking 200/50 Sinemet CR 8 times a day + 10/100 Sinemet 3 times a day. Functional 90% of waking day but fragile. Failure at exercise but still trying. Constantly experimenting. Beta blocker and ACE inhibitor at present. Currently (01/2013) taking ldopa/carbadopa 200/50 CR six times a day + 10/100 form 3 times daily. Functional 90% of day. Update 04/2013: L/C 200/50 8x; Beta Blocker; ACE Inhib; Ginger; Turmeric; Creatine; Magnesium; Potassium. Doing well.

Morning REv

It's morning to me just got up and it 11:30am..

The reason I stayed up that late was watching UFC and on the east cost it starts late.

I will take your advice on taking a day off, don't want it to loose effectiveness.

Report more later, and many thanks to everyone'ps advice, sure helps.

Evening folks,

Here's today's report

The day started late for me as I stayed up to watch the UFC fight last night, But I got my sleep as got up at 11:30am.

When I got up I noticed that I had no rigidity and I was very surprised as my last dose was at 9:00pm the night before and it was Levocarb 100/25.Took my morning dose 2.5 Mucuna anyway, I'm sorry now that I didn't wait till I started feeling off again. I'll have to remember for the future.

As I'm typing this I've to tell you some rigidity has set in and my right arm just won't move properly.

Back to my day.

1:30 pm was off and I could not stand it so I took a Levocarb 100/25 . So, I was feeling on when I got up, took my morning dose anyway ans 2 hours later I have to take another pill. Now does that make sense to you? Someone mentioned that it ends fast, he wasn't kidding.

3:30 was supposed to be my nest Mucuna and since I was still off I took a 2.5g and 30 min later was feeling much better.

8:30pm took a Carb and it took at least an hour to have an effect and it lasted about 2 hours.

Allin all it started good but finished not so well.

Tomorrow I'm going to try a 2.5g in the morning LCarbs during the day because I want to finish my last dose with Mucuna. Makes for a better evening.

I want at least 4 hours between doses and maybe sometimes (if I can remember) longer.

Wednesday will be my No Munuca day As one of the posters suggested I do that so the Mucuna loose it effects and I have to take more.

Well that all for now.

Default What a strange daym read on!!!!

Nov 17, 2008

Different strategy today, 7:00 an and I’m feeling not to bad, so no drugs till I feel I need them.
Last I forgot to mention a few things so I’ll post it here.
I’ve had this problem that when I think about it might of stated when I started taking PD drugs. I’ve had real bad ankle pains and cold feet. I blamed it on my Cholesterol pills that I was taking and have now stopped and became a Vegie. The pain did go away for a while when I stopped but soon came back to my disappointment. Last night was the first time in years that I’ve has no pains in ankles and my feet aren’t cold. Now right or wrong, I’m going to work on the assumption that my PD drugs are the culprits that are causing the ankle and feet problems. For that reason I’ve decided to forgo all PD drugs given to me by my doctor for now. I’ll take a 2.5g of Mucuna only when I really need it. This is just another experiment that I do on myself and have done since I’ve has Cholesterol problems and PD problems. This posting might be a little long today as I’m going to report everything I that I do, take and feel. It’s important to me to find out if it is the PD drugs that were causing my ankle problems. So, be prepared for a lengthy report.

I also forgot to mention and this is more important to me than taking any drugs the fact that I got back on my exercise program. I did 10 cardio, 20 weights and 30 stretching. When I’m in shape and I’m now because I’ve on vacation for the last 2 weeks (crappy excuse) I usually do 30 min of cardio and stomach crunches. Next day I’ll do weights and back exercises. I alternate every day and I always finish of with a good 30 min stretch that involves stretching and rotating every part of my body that turns. Like, ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrist, and finally the neck.

Anyway, it’s now 7:40 am and I’m still typing with both hands but I’m starting to have a bit of problems with the rigidity in my right hand, but not enough to take any medicine.

8:45am still feel the same, had breakfast.

9:00am took my Vitamins and notices that I’m was getting a little wobbly, so I took my anti-wobbly pills. It’s Selegiline 5mg, I take that twice a day.

3:45 still haven’t taken any PD drugs today, to me that’s really weird. I don’t feel any different now then I did this morning. Is it mind over mater? Every time I started to feel rigidity or a little like I was going to need a dose of drugs, I got busy and did some physical things. I mowed my lawn and I did a lot of other things outside that you do to get ready for winter. Came in at 12:30 had a sandwich and back out again. Came in About 2:00 and was a little tired but felt really good. I don’t think for one minute that it was the Mucuna that has done this. Maybe it’s that I have so much in my body it will last me for a while. I’m stubborn enough to wait it out.

Another weird thing is the pain in my ankles is still gone. Although my left ankle and that’s my worst one, is starting to hurt a little bit, but very little.

I take everything as a positive as when it comes to my health and to me this is a very good positive.

9:00 pm did 15 min of exercises felt good and ended with 20 min of stretching. Have not taken any PD drugs all day except the wobbly pill early this morning. I’m actually feel rather good. I can’t explain it, I’m baffled. The doctor said I didn’t have a severe case of it but now I’m thinking, do I even have PD. Good thing I see my doctor in a couple of weeks. He’s supposed to regulate my pills because he just lowered my LC 200 to 100. I hope this keeps up but I doubt it will though.

Talk to all tomorrow

Default So Busy

Where does the time go, there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day.

I fix computers for a hobby and it's very time consuming. I've got 4 on the go right now, more coming in. The reason I'm telling all this is the reason I've missed posting yesterday and what a day it was.

Yesterday brought me back to reality. To even think that I didn't have PD it is so ridicules now. Got up a little groggy, I blamed it on not sleeping well, again didn't take any drug (fool) and went to work. When I got there that's when reality set in. I started a conversation with the secretary and low and behold couldn't hardly get the words out and the words I did get out were slurred. I was so incoherent I was shocked, It wasn't long before I got my PD pills and downed one and about 1 hour later I fairly normal again.

So, the little trial of not taking any drugs all day is finished, but not the M. No, as I speak I'm waiting for the dose of 2.5g to kick in. It's been about 20 min now and I think it's starting to take effect going by how I'm typing with my right hand.

It's 7:30am and I have to get going, got one friend going on vacation and can't go without his laptop, what did we do before computers?

For a while now, I will take 2.5g in the morning, pills during the day and a 2.5g as my last one for the day and I'll wait a while before reporting back.

I'm coming around now so, where's that computer, let me at it!!!!!!

Default I know i missed a day

Nov 19,2008

Yesterday was payback time for me, I mean I suffered from taking a day off from my pills, I don't think I'll do that again.

I took my 2.5g Of M in the morning and it didn't work, nor did any of the other PD drugs I took that day. I was off all day, until just before I took my last dose before going to bed.

Nov 20,2008

Morning dose of 2.5g didn't do a hell of a lot It just a matter of time before I increase my morning dose, Maybe next Monday, I will let you know.

2:30pm and Not on or not off, just in the middle, better than yesterday, but still a struggle to do anything.

Like I said, I'm going to stay with the way my drugs are now, 2.5g M and 100/25 LC every 3 hours.

Well I won't post anymore today unless something drastic happens, I doubt it.

Hi Rick

Do you know (or could you guess at) a metric equivalent for a 00 capsule?
250 mg? 500 mg?
Is there a typical H20 - Mucuna mix for a starting point (2.5g in 8oz)?
Up here in Canada they do things a bit differently... ;P
