Default Weekly Check In Jan 18-24. 2009

Hi Everyone..It has been another tough week with symptoms..I litterally shuffled into the AA meeting Thursday night, something that is rare for me..It was the first time any of my friends have seen me like that, and about a dozen people came over and talked to me at the end of the meeting, with concern..That is what inactivity does to me, and lack of sleep..I havent been sleeping like I used to..After I get up in the middle of the night for a bathroom call, I havent been able to get back to sleep, and have trouble getting to sleep..I got a sleep aid from my neuro that didnt work, and there wasnt a generic substitute for it anyway, so it didnt matter whether it worked or not..Probably couldnt afford it anyway..So I finally asked him to Rx 1/2 mg of clonazapam, cuz I know it will knock me out..I dont like playing with those kinds of drugs, but its cheap, and it works..I took one last night, slept 5 1/2 hours, got up, went to the bathroom, and laid down and slept for another hour and a half..I felt good all day today..My neuro and I talked about my sleep habits during my last visit in October, and he said he thought I needed to get more sleep..Ive noticed during the week, that every time I got up from a nap, my legs worked better..Hmmmmmmmmm....

I drove to Boston to pick up Laura tonight, got a gate pass, and hung out at the gate and waited for her flight to arrive..Im getting pretty good at this airport stuff....I found my way around there, but showed up 2 hours early like Alaska Air told me to, and went through security in 10 minutes, and waited 2 hours..Oh well..It was worth the wait though..It was so good to see her walking off the plane with Scooter her Pug walking up ahead of her..Then we went to baggage check, and I pick up one bag, and its heavy as hell..I looked at Laura and I said.."Rocks right?"..Yup.. thats what was in there..(ya get to know this stuff after a while..)..She is an avid rock enthusiast..So now we've got three cats, and a dog..The cats dont know what to make of him yet..They'll figure it out in time

How was your week?

Hello Steve, I just had to reply to your post. Inactively.......wow, I have been reading your weekly check-in posts and I'd say a major road trip, a new relationship and all that brings....are way up there. Like....that you are still standing is amazing. Add in the factor how much energy pd and the side effects of the medications rob you of.......man I''d congratulate yourself and take a few days off. Sleeping, have you tried Melatonin 3 mg a powerful antioxidant good for a few things one being a sleep aid. Take one 2 hours before you want to sleep. My neurologist takes it.

Smile

I am very happy that I was able to buy airline tickets this week for my husband and me to go to Florida for Easter and see my daughter and grandchildren. Prices were so high last fall that we didn't know if we would be able to go. Fortunately, prices came down and we are able to go Tuesday to Tuesday. We were able to get a $63 fare going down (with a connection) and a $99 fare coming back (nonstop) on Southwest airlines. Since I teach guitar, I need to travel when the schools have holidays, and that is when the prices are usually the highest.
