BTW, it is 32 degrees here today....must be the January thaw. It is also the most depressing day of the year according to the MSN website...I dunno, it is sunny and 32....hardly depressing for us! After 4 weeks of overcast crud, I am dancing around for joy. I can take the hothands things out of my shoes....well, maybe not, feet are still cold.
I think I drank too much coffee, I gotta go work this off somehow. |
My feet are always cold at work, all day....then
I get home, take off my shoes and they are burning like hot coals. I sleep with them outside the covers, hanging over the bed side. 'Go-know!?!' (old Yiddidsh exclamatory) This PN can drive ya nuts! |
I keep mine outside the covers too...go figure. I can't stand to have anything on them at nite...never did, even as a kid. My 'dawgs' gotta breathe.

For me weather and pain go hand in hand. I have RSD and PN so cold equals flare up city. On a cold day I step outside and my foot freezes like it was stuck in snow and does not warm up for hours no matter what. Cold rain is bad too. For me the mild temps of 70s with med humidity is the best. Too dry and I am also not good due to my eye condition and too humid I swell. I need my own special climate I say. On a side note I think movies are good healthy outlets. I go sometimes to get out of my mind and help cope with the bad days.

This was just on Rachel Ray's show:
Themofeet: http://www.amazon.com/DryGuy-DGTF-Th...3914375&sr=8-1 Affordable and not a HEATING insole which may burn you, but only reflects your own body heat back to you. This is the same stuff NASA uses, and also I have in pet mats for my cats. (they stay warm naturally). I have noticed in myself, that burning always follows cold feet. Keeping them from getting too cold, will avoid the burning when they warm up. I have a little heater under my computer now, which is working well for me. |
Heh, heh, I took my kid to the doc today, thinking it was as warm as yesterday...no hat, no gloves, get in the car, and the thermometer said, 14. I am trying to thaw now. It is a cold foot day today, altho it is supposed to warm up to freezing. For me, if it is under 20, it is all the same. Your jacket makes cracking noises and the contents of your nose freeze. 8 more weeks to St. Patty's day.

My neuropathy is seasonal. In the summer, I can't stand anythng on my feet, can't cover them because I can't stand to feel anything touching them. In winter, I am hardly ever barefoot. I do sleep without socks for the most part, but some nights, my feet are so cold I have to put socks on, and an extra blanket over them. This neuropathy is a very weird thing.

When my feet aren't burning and out from under the covers,
I have a pair of 'house socks' that are polar fleece socks, for wearing under the covers. Better than any sleeping socks I've ever had. (Xmas present Dec '08) |
We saw Avatar over the weekend--I kept thinking of it at Dances with Ripley. Amazing effects but very predictable, so I wouldn't bother to see it in any other format than 3D in a theather. Great eye candy and very thrilling at times!
Yes there were messages: stealing land from indigenous people to get their natural resources is bad and so is using military force to do it. But the best part was that my feet didn't bother me the whole time--normally I find sitting in a theater torture and all I want is for the show to be over so I can go home and put my feet up with nothing touching them. I actually forgot about my feet for a little while, and that was gift! |
