The UK is getting a wintry blast as well.

Here the salt does not work well below 20 degrees. We have to use a different mix. I took several very bad skids today while out, and I have a subaru! One was on a major highway and I thought I was going into the ditch sideways, but the Sub, she pulled out of the skid. My skid light was on most of the time. I am home now, safe and sound, and I skipped the brownie mix...not worth the extra drive. Heated me up some clam chowder, made me think of Bob.

UpNorth, people do all sorts of stuff to make their mailboxes more visible. They have reflectors on them, and tall baffles, sometimes painted. When the snow gets close to the height of the box, you need something TALLER attached to it so the plows and trucks can see it. Some have those little orange triangular flags that kids put on bikes attached to thin poles, and attach that to the mailbox pole.
Jeepers mrsD, you always have such useful and practical suggestions. I would want to put the mailbox on one of those roly-poly punching bags that you knock over and they pop back up. But maybe seeing life as a cartoon isn't always the best approach.

The main road between Cedarville and American Sault St. Marie all have very unique mailboxes... there must be major plow damage there! (M129) Alot of traffic on that UP road!

I pray everyone gets thru this winter without pain, stress and broken parts. I had a major setback before Christmas and haven't been outside since and have to use a walker plus catheter too pee. I told the wife on Christmas day I hoped it would be my last Christmas. Take care and god bless you all

Here we are resorting to putting a sheet of plywood in front of ours!:( This is not the time of year to get creative. Maybe next year we can install one on a swinging arm. Hubby says 'Paint a target on it.":D

:hug:Stagger, I truly know how you feel, but, consider that things could get better, and also that people love and depend on you.

I can't throw in the towel because of my grandkids....and many days I feel like packing it in. Loss of function sux, but, what is the option? Often each day feels like you are, :deadhorse:

Winter is tough on everybody. It just stinks. But Spring will come. Hopefully you will feel better then.

Besides, you gotta stick around for our antics!! That is what this is all about.....making the best of a crappy situation.:bump:

Have enjoyed reading your posts about weather in different areas.

I am from North Carolina. It has been cold, and we had snow the week before Christmas.

Tonight is cold, and we have a chance of snow.

Lanny, I hope that the pain you are experiencing is better.
Take Care.

Only got 2" of snow at my house last nite - can handle that, but
the WIND is behind it......20 to 35 mph.

Projected tonite is 24-28 degrees
with wind chill ...... 'feels like' (would you believe) 2 degrees....or less!
(must be that 1 mph wind = decreases -1 degree of temp.?)

Grousing about the weather, is better than grousing about PN, :p
but the weather affects my PN . :(
It's a 'catch 22'.
