This problem with J & J has been going on for 20 months!

Yes, MrsD. and the Risperdal thing too, which I posted under, 'More Dirt' thread. Honestly what next? Also, the BPA thing. FDA says it can not regulate BPA! It isn't a drug or food additive.....so it is out of FDA jurisdiction. Pfff. Ok, so all the canned goods are contaminated. Not to mention the plastics. Lord, what a mess.

I am of the opinion that a good deal of suffering is drug induced as well. The more I read the more I think that Americans need to evaluate what goes into their bodies.

Iatrogenic illness is a huge problem.

You know Bob, ometimes I wonder if I should have ever quit. I was just fine. And then I quit. Took 1 month for the PN to start, GI problems, and of course, cancer. Not to mention all of the other weird symptoms that have developed. I want to feel like I did when I smoked.

No, I'm not going to start again but it really cheeses me off.

In the last few months, maybe a year, I dunno, I have developed this obnoxious chemical sensitivity. I used to think this was just kinda made up....like who can be allergic to everything around them?....UH, well, I am, now. I just went to the home improvement store and rushed home to hubby's asthma inhaler....isn't helping all that much....cripes. If it isn't one thing it's another. I want my OLD body back!!!

I don't know if this is neurological, if this is an over-reaction to being off opiates, (suppresses cough), or if it is an issue with lung fibrosis, of which I have some...(at this rate, it's gonna be more.)

I have never smoked, and it is probably a darn good thing....now I can smell a cigarette a mile down wind. I can smell anything downwind these days. No judgment intended, just a fact. I simply can't breathe as well as I used to. I am sure my dogs don't help matters either with all this fur and dander. I don't know what to do with a 100 pound lap dog. He hates it outside, unless I am out there. Air cleaner dries my eyes out.

I felt better when I abused myself, lol. Pardon me, I gotta go cough up my lung, and wheeze for a bit.

This is sooo not attractive.

Now I have to tell you, I have always had a very keen sense of smell, even when I smoked. I could and can smell it if someone is boiling water downstairs when I'm upstairs. So when people would tell me "you should quit smoking because your sense of smell will improve a lot, it never encouraged me because this is a very stinky world--why the heck would I want to smell it any more acutely?

I don't want to discourage anyone, but the only thing quitting did for me was save money and make me slightly more popular. Otherwise, I've never felt worse in my life.

Still, I don't think I could ever put a cigarette to my lips because I went to a hypnotist to quit, and he planted the idea that they're filty and have rat pee in them. But strangely I don't mind being around smokers so I never give them a hard time.

OK, I will admit the above statement is not really true. I'm not any more popular.

I simply can't breathe around smoke, even burnt toast. It has nothing to do with who or what is producing it. LOL.

Got the results in the mail...CT scan confirms
the previous x-ray Dx......Emphysema ....but no tumors, adenopathy (whatever that is ) or other problems noted
Doc says "..but you need to work on the smoking"

Duh ?

Easier said than done.
I know - I've quit before... tortures from He!!
